Man, I was all over the place on this one in ideas. I was gonna do a collage of myths, then a collage of gods, and finally realized it was way too much to do for a week deadline, ha. So I just focused on the 1st god i was doing (Poseidon).

 

It was taking way too long to look good, and wasn't making much sense, story-wise, either. so I got a new idea for a composition...

I quickly painted up a sea scene, using photos as reference and blending. mostly paint though...

smacked Poseidon in and had him doing his thing on a poor ship (presumably Odysseus)...

 

Almost finished. Just gotta fix the ship and crew, touchup some more details, and blend it together a bit better. 

Looking good Braja, but still if he's attacking the ship why is he looking at us?

It almost seems like he's saying " guys, you took the wrong turn, you have to get back  ...  oops   shipwreck"

I did a sketch today, highly unlikely I'll have anything finished in time, but I liked the idea of doing Athena cos she's so cool. So I plan to finish it eventually.

Thanks for the advice, saschaschroder, I agree since it wasn't in the initial idea. He looks outta place but I stared at the pic so long I couldnt figure it out till you said something. the eyes were liquid so can't tell where it's looking. Plus the hand I was also unsure of. I sorted it out so here's another option.

 

 

Again, not finished, but hopefully making more sense.

To Braja: Interesting idea! :-) but I wonder, what if he would bend his arm in an elbow and try to crush this ship by first? And I believe you need more gloomy and stormy sky in here, because god seems to be angry. :) To adventuregoat: I like your stile :) it's very close to my vision of this story :D
