Well, I'm glad he's in it. And he did appear in one of the bonus scenes after the credits of one of the movies leading to Avengers. I'm not sure which one it was. Captain America maybe? And he did say that there were hidden paths to the other realms, so why not from his exile as well? And I've learned not to question logic and continuity when it comes to superhero movies.
