4 prints if you open it.what a lovely surprise :D. The postman did his best to fold them in half Tongue Tied but I think the cardboard saved them just about. (any chance of putting a "do not bend" on future issues?) Did you run out of subscriber copies Claire? mine seems to be the shop variety Huh?. Really lovely manga tut and thanks to marta for all her brushes and tips on how she uses them. Nice!!

My prints were also turned into origami by the postie Nimh!  But what an amazing issue!  I'm sure Kaz is still quaking in her boots from the zombie piece that leaps out from the pages lol!
Marta's workshop was fantastic and I can't wait to tear into the DVD and get going with those brushes, her explanations for them made so much sense (penny dropping over here!) and I think they will prove invaluable.
OK, going back to drool over my prints :)

Thank you for the beautiful prints. it was a nice reminder about the up and  coming Exotique 5 also.
And yes, my postman decided to try his hand at origami as well with the thing. Though he wears shorts all year round so I get to see his legs (even in snow!) so I forgive him.

    Thanks again!

    Re: issue 43 - omfg

Looks like another good one...but one problem. Although i've got the art prints, i seem to have been sent the standard cover version, rather than the subscribers. AIIEE!!!! Has this happened to anyone else?

someone else has said that, is it because of the text on there? if you look at the second page at the bottom it has a photo of both newstand and subscriber issues, spot the difference?

Yes, the subscriber special has no ad text, only a the glorious pink pepper with what looks like japanese text, for the authentic manga feel. And i haven't got it. Booooooo!!!

ah right haversack, i thought that was the mistake people were making, mine's got the japanese text but it's weird you go the piccies too.

Marta, it's a brilliant issue, this one seems especially full of information, and i love your new brushes, thank you, i can't wait to try them! i haven't loaded the disc yet so i don't know what's on it, but i think i'm going to be lacking a Marta video Sad

    so when's you're next one!

if koshime hasn't uploaded the piccies by the time i get home i'll do it.

Glad you liked it, the tut was really tough to write, to be honest. Had a lot fun with the final image though :P The next tut + video coming up in the next issue. Just started working on 'em :-)

    Re: issue 43 - omfg

well its another doozer... full of fantastic art, great brush tips from martha and Paul. havnt read all the tutorials but so far so good, great article with stanly lau, and his tutorial is fantastic too.

Kaz: checkout the indepth colour made easy tutorial, Trevor includes a bit on using grids for perspective too ;)

editorial team: one bit that can be improved though, Ive said it before but hey ho, here we go.  in the stanly lau tutorial he mentions locking the transparancy of pixels before applying a layer filter. I read it and thought great tip, but how? it didnt say. then on the same page it had pro tip "locking up those pixels" hurrah I thought its gonna tell me how!... but no, its just says you can do it again :(

I know its a bit of a bore me always harping on about this, but wouldnt it be better if the tutorial told you how to go about doing the things it talks about doing rather than just saying it can be done? its a great article, fantastic image, just wish that the tips were more informative, its not just this one article, it happens throughout the mag, always has done.

Trevors tutorial on colour is outstanding.... just fantastic... i feel like Ive really learned somehting on this one.

     cracking issue, top draw.

    steve
