Thanks for your comment Zim, yeh I know the green seems a bit OTT, but it will come together as it progresses.

Okay, comments time. (working back through the thread)

Byron- Excellent work, great sketches.

Sinistral- Good image, nice brushwork, great colours in the armour, coming on lovely.

Charco- Strong pose, excellent lighting. Bit of advice, darken the torso to match the shading on the trousers. You are going to have one powerful image there.

Zim- Love it! The lighting is in just the right place, looking forward to seeing it come on.

Tector- Excellent pic, nice style. Very 'childrens-book illustration'.

Weazle- Great work, really like the background colours.

Gurch- Thanks for you comments and for posting the gallery pics. I went to the Tate last summer and I had a cleaning crew following me around mopping up the dribble!

Robin- Excellent work as always. Great image, great style.

Rey- Saw yours in the finals thread, powerful image, nice style.

xHaStex- Agan, great start, look forward to some more wips.

Ivy- Love the 'hornedy whatzit'!!

Malla- Lovely start, great colours.

Gix- Your work just gets better all the time, look forward to more.

Jackdaw- nice first wip, gonna be a great pic!

This is done, now I can get on with my Graphic Design course work. (it's like being back at school!)

Looking good Charco, much better, and that blade looks great!

It's a diploma course, I'm hoping to do a degree next year, I used to work as a graphic designer in the 80s (it was all Rotring pens and cell acetate back then!) but I got the job on the strength of my portfolio, I wish I'd gone the academic route back then! Still, I'd have to be doing digital design courses anyway to catch up with the norm.

Mark: Thanks man. Yours looks great! Really like the colours you've put together there!

Charco: Yours is also coming along really well! Keep up the good work!

I have put in plenty of time today on mine. Still haven't done much on the horns though which is meant to be the point of this picture! Lol. Anyway, plenty more to do. Might get round to doing some sort of background at some point!

Re: MyFX Challenge #81 "Horned" Wips

I am really enjoying all the progress updates, the pictures are really coming together and everyone's vision and the diversity of subject matters is fantastic.
.
By the way I recommend everyone should spend some time in a gallery, (it made my eyes pop out) it should be made compulsory by law!
.
Today Ive had a quick go at this horny subject too, i wasn't going too but I was overwhelmed by all you funny lot sticking things up in my support..Im still not entering, just drawing this for fun, was gonna call it Little big Horn but its not very red indiany is it!
Actually part of the reason was because i wanted to have a go with the cut out filter.
It was fun toying with this setting. I would never have played around or even discovered it if it wasn't for Bryon for mentioning it a couple of time - many thanks for bringing it to the fore Mr. Bryon.
Its a great little feature, unfortunately my drawing was too detailed and i ended up down playing the final effect of this photoshop filter.
But i can see how it would help to take a rough drawing and make it very dramatic. drawing can be made to take on quite an arty comic book style. Haven't tried it out in colour yet.
But go try it out for yourself, experiment, its a really neat tool.

Thanks for the kind comments people...
I'm loving the work here. Gurch, you have to enter. Your work pushes us to try harder... Someone else used to do that a lot... I think he's a mod now... hmmm..

Ivy... I saw your creature and a laughed. I miss your cuddly works of art.
Mark... Great line work... Great image.
There are many more that are such great pieces, but I don't have time to write much now.

Here's an update on mine. I still have a lot of cleaning and touching up to do. I hope I get finished in time.
Crits and feedback are needed and welcomed.
