Giants & Gorillias need help too!

I've been working on this picture for over a year on and off.

I'm not sure what bothers me about it but the background needs work and until I fix that I can't seem to work on the Giant.

I hate when something little provents me from finishing an other wise great piece of work.

Any tips would be great. ..

The skyscrapers in the background are too sharp and steals the attention from the giant, soften them  a bit and add some smog ( haze ) perhaps. Another thing that disturbs me is the giants toes,.. - on the foot which has the gorilla resting on it - ...they look too square, giving an impression that the giant is made of moulded concrete as a plaything for the gorillas to climb on...( I understand though that the giant is far from finished yet...)

You have done quite well with the gorillaz though, they look really cool ! Big Smile

What jumps out to me is that the buildings look too "real." The Forefront has a very painted look to it, which contrasts with the photographicness of the background.

Good point on the feet I'll try to fix.

Yeah the buildings bother me too... The trees and such to the right are giving me trouble too. I may rip out the background and start over.

The middle area ie Giant and the gorilla pen need meddled together to just can't get there.

    Damn Drawing Block!!

Maybe not rip it all out... the comp (I think) needs a heavier area of interest in the top right, but at present the bright top left is drawing (!) the eye too much. It's odd too that the buildings are sharp (as mentioned) but the depth of field has been established with a sharp foreground and the trees top right are beginning to blur.. the buildings should be waaaay out of focus... again... I think!  ;-)

    Cheers!
