    Upgrade to Photoshop CS?

    Hi!
I have been working in Photoshop 7 for the last few years but now I am upgrading my PC ad among others changing from Win200 to Vista. In the process I have thought to switch to Photoshop CS but I am unsure if there is anything to gain with an upgrade. I am more than pleased at the moment with P7 but I don't know that much about CS and the things I seen on the net are not that focused on artwork in photoshop CS. Anyone out there with recomendations or knowledge of somewhere to find it?

For painting I'm not so sure there is a great deal more in CS (CS or CS3?). There are a number of new features of course. I especially like the Warp filter (CS2/3) but, again, it's not essential for painting. What I would worry about is that P7 and Vista might have a compatibility issue. They might work together but then again they might not and Adobe support probably won't have anything to do with it. So that might make your mind up for you.

If you have the chance to upgrade to CS3, go for it... it is FANTASTIC!

From the painting point of view there is little difference, apart from the fact that it is quicker and a bit more comprehensive. You will also benefit from extra blending modes, more filters (and more powerful too!), a much improved interface....

Seriously, Photoshop CS3 is a much better software in every respect than Photoshop 7.
