This challenge is a good one Sinstral but like Byron time is against me. If I don't start the challenge on saturday and break its' back by sunday night, I struggle.

Well, I'm going for the Milton approach.

In the story, Paradise Lost, Satan is ****ed off with God, so decides to ruin the paradise of Eden by tempting Eve.

 This image is a depiction of the gaining of understanding of Sin, by Eve. A bit dramatic and Cliched.  WIP of course, still playing with comp and sizing. I think it lacks dynamism though.

 I'd really like some crits, if you wouldnt mind. :) x

WillBauly - Nice start.  Yes perhaps something of cliche but has a good Frazetta feel to it.  Might be an rinteresting route to take.

XHaStex-A wide interpretation is fine.  I hoped to pick a title that could provide scope for as many varied images as possible. Nice start here.  I had come up with a similar idea........Some wips soon.

 I know it's a competition, but criticism would be a very big help. :) Loving all the other work here.

Here is my initial colouring of the central focus. I decided to do the foreground before the background, because there will be more light bouncing off the character, onto the trees, than there will be ambient light to colour the character. I'm still no happy with the composition. I will work on the elements later, once the basics are laid out more clearly.

Also, be aware, these postings are at 1/5 of the size I am actually working at.

P.S. I hope to god my ex girlfriend doesn't see this..... Haha.

Hey Will, I think she is looking great....I would maybe have less of the snakes body at the bottom....it's almost like Satan is forcing Eve to stay on the spot rather than tempting her...plus I'd like to see her feet! lol

I also like how, for now, there is quite a bit of darkness in this piece....I'm not sure what it is your not happy with, but I'm really excited to see this piece progress.

i like this, it's a really strong piece, a couple of things that jump out at me though is her stomach has very strong defined muscles, but they look more like a male six pack, if you're going for a body builder look, then ignore that comment, but i'd like to see it a bit softer. Also her boob is way far over to the centre on her right/our left, it could do with being pushed over a bit, even if she's leaning over it would droop to the centre, well not being as firm as they are! lol  

oh and i've just noticed something, the snake between her thighs, if it was as thick as the rest of the body it would push her thighs open a bit more i think, or else her vice like thigh grip is flattening it? lol

 Well, about the stomach, it's not muscle, it's a paunch... like a little belly. I think it's very feminine to have a belly, so I kind of left it. I might try and adjust the texture though, in order to make it more clear. About the thighs, you are indeed right. I need to adjust that. Something I may have overlooked if you hadn't of mentioned! :D

 About the breast though, I do you mean it needs to go further into her armpit? I can see that actually. I want a very natural droop, and I haven't seen any in action for a while now, so am relying on memory! :P haha.

 Placement of the snake at the bottom... I want something to fill the bottom negative space, and I don't want to cut the figure. In actual fact, Satan didn't tempt Eve, but persuaded her with rhetoric, as Satan was apparently a great conversationalist and speaker! At least, to Milton. I like the idea of domination here. For that reason I'm going to leave the snake in.

 And yes, I do really want to go with a dark theme. Of course, I suppose, Eden would have a beautiful place, but I'd like to demonstrate the darkness of the act that Eve is performing.

Rey, I love your initial concept! I think it could work out very well... really gives us the idea of the 'paradise' lost.

i totally agree, i think a woman with a bit of a belly is much more appealing than a sunken hollow, in that case i would definitely soften the indents near her hips to show that it is belly & not muscle. nice idea by the way, not done enough in my opinion!

ok a boob looks like this *points to boob* lol, yeah i'd take it closer to the armpit it would be more like a loose 'hook' shape if you get what i mean! you probably don't though, look forward to an update!
