It's all good Rob... I think we (or most of us) know that it isn't your fault, we (well... I) just like to complain. Stick out tongue

I wasn't asking for compensation... I just really like the Iron Man Picture.

Re: The official issue 31 feedback thread

I'd have to disagree with you a bit there Pix. There really is no reason to lock the thread right now.

There is a bit of whining so far about the Iron Man stuff, but it's only been a couple of posts. As Rob has mentioned, the Iron Man part was a mistake made by the printers. Unfortunately new people to this thread aren't always going to read all the posts in the thread and will no doubt miss that point, especially if the point isn't shown on the first page of posts people see (whether they're set to see oldest or newest posts first).

Other than that though, people are voicing their opinions about the cover itself. Some like it, some don't but this is feedback. I can see how this would get slightly annoying though to be seen repeatedly but the controversy of the cover change up is the most striking part of the magazine to comment on.

Re: The official issue 31 feedback thread

Pix, i'm sorry but i have to completely disagree with you there, any whining (this is a joke word by the way) is done on a good natured basis, no one is actually complaining. This is the feedback page, dislike is allowed & as we are the readers and subscribers of the mag, i would think the feedback is valuable if not essential. No point asking for feedback if you don't want to hear any adverse views.

I'm really glad that we don't actually lock threads after a few little comments like that! jeez we'd have no threads open!

Pix, i know you really dislike any arguing/disagreements etc, but to be honest, that's the nature of an open internet forum. It's not all sweetness and light, and for that i'm glad.

Re: The official issue 31 feedback thread

Adam: i disabled alot of my subscriptions on this site cause every email i get is someone complaining. Most threads here are someone fighting, someone complaining, or the topic just goes way off topic about something completely different and not even art related!   This just sways me away to other sites, i guess now im complaining about all the complainers here. Sorry! but hey, since we are all complaining, ill put in my complaint.

getting past the cover. i really liked the sketchbook section. Douglas Carrel, the scottish childrens book artist, really has a good imagination with an interesting style thats fun to look at. and his penciling technique is great.  more from him please :)

and Shrek artist Erwin Madrid rocks!

I'm not complaining about the cover it's great! Though I must admit I would have been disapointed if the PRINTER'S had not messed upStick out tongue But in fairness if Tom had not mentioned the mix up I would not have known about the other cover!

Why not just have one cover but as has been done before, enclose the shop sold magazines in a plastic bag/cover with the writing on?

Edit: Subscribers get the mag cheaper, earlier, and delivered to there door so why should they also have a better cover?

Really enjoyed the Feng Zhu stuff and the UK comics article.
It would be great to have a whole feature on Rebellion and 2000AD in the future.
    The booklet was cool aswell.

    Raymond:

So to kill Your anger towards my comment Con-bob, I saw Iron Man earlier this week in the cinema and I enjoyed it so much that I'll prob go see it again this weekend.

No anger man, just conversation. The issue that popped through your letterbox sounds erm... interesting.

Re: The official issue 31 feedback thread

I once worked at a place that made maps and travel books....I remember a HUGE mistake that the printers made. At the time Simon and Schuester owned the company....but it costs the company something like 75 K ... don't know how they put that dollar amount on it but the monday I walked in at my desk when my boss's boss found out..the proverbial Moo hit the Cow...(what's that mean anyways?)...anywho...so yeah....Printers...can live with em'...can't marry em'....can't blame it on women either. So what can you do?

Is anything gonna happen to them? By the way...anyone ever watch "Grumpy Old Men/Women" .... that's what SOME of these forums remind me of...I think it's healthy to get stuff off your chest....I think we should all be MORE grumpy....it's a good defuser. It is too bad though that the cover had an Iron Man shot on it...so many good artists on here to showcase....oh well.

Have you ever noticed the deeper you look into life the more it loses it's meaning....?

Re: The official issue 31 feedback thread

OK........Im going to be totally controversial here.........Just plucking up the courage........Here I go.

I was not impressed with this months issue!!!!!!!!!!

Woah, talk about an adrenaline rush.

I know this will attract some irrate members but I really did feel let down by this months issue. When I saw Mays edition advertised in issue 30 with the superb Marko DjurDjevic's spiderman I got the same feeling I got when I heard Lucas was making STAR WARS Episode one. Sadly I had the same feeling when I saw Episode one as I did when I got this issue. Its not that its a bad issue, the articles are good, workshops excellent, artists features great. Its just for an issue that was meant to be dedicated to the heros of Marvel art there was very little there in they way of it being what it promised to be.

I think my problem is with the free supplement. It was a nice Idea but I felt that should have been kept for the new kids on the block in terms of Marvel art, I just didnt think it was big enough for the likes of Granov and Djurdjevic and they should have had larger features in the main magazine. I'm a massive fan of both these guys and I was really aching to see Articles, Interviews, workshops and more from them. But sadly there were none. I mean you even mentioned in issue 30 that Djurdjevic was the man that painted 82 covers in a year, surely there was some scope to do a massive spread on this. You know? something like he picks his favorite 10 and talks through each of them, or he picks his most successful and talks though his process when painting, etc, etc.

Anyways I'm knit-picking now, but before I go I just want to reiterate that I still love IFX. Its the best magazine a guy like me could have asked for and has helped me develop my art to a level I never thought possible. Its just next time you advertise a next months issue just dont tease us with such words as Granov & Djurdjevic, unless you can give them 10 pages each or something.

I hope I've not offended anyone cause I think the work Rob and the guys do is amazing. just wanted to get my point accross.

    Regards,

    Mike.
