Re: The official issue 31 feedback thread

DJS37: i wrote a tutorial on digital inking, its over at PB here:

    http://www.pixelbrush.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2434

but the best way to ink is traditionally, thats one thing digital can't do well, is inking. it can't replace the shakyness of the hand.  good old tip i got from tim townsend.

ah, good old Tim. gotta love him.Don't know him personally, but he and Chris Bachalo do tons together. That and you can always see both of them answering questions and talking on their Yahoo forum.

jumped to the 'coming next' pages just to see what was being alluded to. I picked up pretty quickly right off the bat what 'movies' at least the two page were hinting at. It's not TOO hard if your a sci-fi fan. Smile

Got my issue today. Good to see some of the sketches of long standing gallery contributor hethabyr, in the Sketchbook section. They're wonderful.

id say this is the first time ive really been let down by the subscriber cover. The newsstand version is way better. Im not saying the art is bad or anything. It was just ummm MARVEL-less not what i  expected at all.

Sorry you feel let down. As I say, this was a mistake at the printers and subscribers should have got an Iron Man back cover.

Re: The official issue 31 feedback thread

I caught myself blinking twice as the newest issue dumped into my mailbox. Didn't know what to think at first as for one: I've not gotten used to the clear plastic wrappage yet , 2: it looked like someone mailed me a bag of ...stuff and commercials...not IFX related..

Tore it up to see what the ..I'd received now...and hey...it IS the latest issue of IFX...but..no offence to the artist...the cover art is the "worst" since Issue one...this was no lovely sci-fi/fantasy art...*sighs*

There...I just had to get it out of my system...sorry

I take it you mean there wasn't a woman on the cover? The mag has featured at least one superhero comic style cover before.

I like it, I like the lovely covers too but hey, after thirty covers of lovely they get a bit samey after a while.

Re: The official issue 31 feedback thread

ok, yup.. slightly disappointed not to get the iron man image... but these things happen..

but, to push against the tide: i love the subscriber copy. its fresh and funny. and if it had been on the shelf i would have picked it up (and no, im not really a comic fan!).

Diversity is brilliant, kudos to the IFX team for keeping things fresh

Re: The official issue 31 feedback thread

it was still a woman bob, cartoon or not, definitely female.

I feel sorry for you IFX guys now, so i just think you should know, even though some of us are whining ****** we still love the mag, you've just raised the bar so high that we're pretty picky now, but as always, thank you for an amazing issue, regardless of the cover Smile
