The now infamous Irongate affair ;)

From what I understand, subscribers were gonna get a textless Ironman backcover but they were switched accidently.

Re: The official issue 31 feedback thread

ah, gotcha. ok well I don't feel SO bad now.

except, and this is the first time I've had to say this out of the whole IFX run, but it's not the kind of cover that would have even gotten me to skim through the magazine at the newstand. I'm a big comic collector, but it looks more like one of the cheesy comic advertisements you find on the back cover or in the back few pages of a comic book rather than an exciting cover image bent on getting my attention.

There's just nothing that's really exciting or interesting about it in my opinion. sorry. Embarrassed

I have to agree with you Adam, but mainly because i'm not a comic fan.

Re: The official issue 31 feedback thread

Thanks for your feedback, guys. The thing is, the newsstand cover is an Iron Man cover and with the subscriber cover we wanted to do something fun with one of the hottest talents in the UK comics scene, whilst giving a cool Iron Man image on the back. The printers cocked this up, so it didn't come out as planned - hence neither cover works as it should do. Still, it's good to hear your opinions, as always...

eh, its not the cover that counts, its whats inside.  dont judge a magazine by its cover!

oh absolutely pix & to be honest, it never influences me anyway, i subscribe because the mag is amazing, it's just a personal thing for me as i'm not into comics, however it's not bad going, there's only 1 cover i'm not keen on & 30 that i love! good odds!

Re: The official issue 31 feedback thread

well i guess i speak for myself rob.  i know covers are meant to attract and be flashy so i tend to not care whats on there.  especially comics, lots of times the cover is the only thing worth looking at and then the content sucks.  which i then put back on the shelf. id buy IFX if there is a white blank cover with just a logo.  :)

me too Kaz. :)  glad im not the only one. :D

okay, well regarding the cover, I would have taken out the "brrr" right away it would have been more eye catching, and maybe a more dramatic lightning, because concept-wise, it's great.

and I don't know what type of paper you've used for the cover, but my magazine was fine even though it was folded this month :)

and now to get to the reading!

Re: The official issue 31 feedback thread

too true too true. the cover aside, the type of content in this one is reminiscent of the very first issue which is absolutely astounding. I love what I've seen so far especially the inclusion of 'basic' art techniques like the colour and figure drawing.

my mag was folded again this month but it was easy to bend it back into shape. it was also nice to see it had a label on it that said something about being careful with it as well. I can't remember the exact wording at the moment.

Got my issue yesterday!  It was sooner than I expected, which was good, I ran out of stuff to read!

I was kinda disappointed the cover did not have Iron Man like the standard one, but nevertheless, I like the mini Marvel issue.  Impressive work from the artists, mainly Marko, my favorite!

Re: The official issue 31 feedback thread

Really impressed by this month's edition - such a good range of articles and I'm liking the focus on comics. Would love to see something on digital inking as it is one area that is still done more in real media.

The one disappointment is how little there was on Marko Djurdjevic et al. The supplement was a nice idea, if a little small. From the last issue's coming soon, with a fantastic Spider-man, I was getting my hopes up for more in terms of technique, perhaps a workshop. I'd love to see more on the Marvel style of art as previous material on Djurdjevic, Granov and the late great Glen Angus has been top notch.

Was very excited to see this month's coming soon. Without giving anything away, not too bothered about 'the green one' but really hoping for loads of good material on 'the red one.' Oh, would it be too much to hope for a workshop and a narrated video?!
