    Re: "George" and the Dragon

sorry for the lack of updates but I restarted this thing about 3 or 4 times and I've had big problems with my computer, but here is the finished dragon.

I'll be starting and finishing George tonight, I'm thinking of making him into more of a hunter, using parts of previously vanquished monsters to build/enhance his armour.

The video is being a *** and therefore I've had to miss big chunks of the drawing process, it'll be sped up so fast though that you may not even notice all that much. I'll probably have to put it on youtube and then either link you or embed it here.

Just to be a bas***d (hopefully a helpfull bas***d), I have to say I'm a bit disapointed about the dragon. It has to little texture on the body in my opinion. The head is fine. You can see the scales and the hornstructure on the nose. The horn on its head though could do with a bit more texture as well. And perheps it could do with an allover dirtying-up? Otherwise I'm still standing by the fact that it's an very original design. It has actually inspired me to maybe try a dragon pic myself. It will in so case be my first.

Yea I know what you mean I think the same too, but problem is, I've had to rush a lot of it because the deadline is tomorrow (film and all) so I've had to miss out certain details that I'd have liked to include. Plus this is my first proper piece so I can't get it perfect first time (not for want of trying though :P). George updates to come soon.

    Re: "George" and the Dragon

Finally finished. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, still a little miffed about the dragon as I kinda had to rush his because I was running out of time, but considering this was my first full piece I think it came out awesome.

A close up of George - about the kind of detail he'll have when printed. I'm really proud of the way this guy turned out, I think I'm gonna start doing more characters like him as I'm better at them than I thought.

Now just a few flipped and cropped to see if I can get a better look, personally I prefer the smaller versions and am leaning to the flipped version as I think it's more dynamic.

Came out good concidering your time problem. George is a bit to cute to me. He would have done better a more wethered. But all in all I like this. And as I said before, I digg the dragon. This is a magical dragon. 'Course how it's able to fly? Must be magicWink Actually I got inspired to maybe try a dragon pic myself. Want to paint a dragon flying in over my hometown Bergen, Norway.

TNX man, for the great WIP.

Interesting to follow the sketches here, I loved the tiny thumbs You've produced.

The end result however kinda lacked the good feel of the thumbs. To me it looks too "watery" and too blurry.

I'd love to see You do a greyscale version of it, with more contrast,  instead of the colored version You've produced here :-)

But You've got talent, that's for sure Yes

    Re: "George" and the Dragon

Thanks for all the great comments, but I do agree about the dragon, I'm going to do a few touch ups to try and improve the colours etc. I don't plan on spending too much time on it though because I think you can spend too much time on a piece. I want to work on some new stuffs.

The video is almst done too so I'll post that soonish.
