The template for the competition is on the disc that comes with the mag under the resources section.

Great! Thanks for the heads-up! I haven't looked through the disc yet. I've been too immersed in the excellent issue.

I got mine today, Great Issue! Very bad competition placement, must work harder or I'll be a system administrator forever, which is not bad in itself but it's not what I want to do in my life... :)

    Dave Kendall:
A great issue as always, although I'm a little unsure of the top 50 artists. I know there are always favourites that are missing from lists, but some of the omissions from this makes it akin to having a list of top metal bands and excluding Metallica. I really think the likes of Marko Djurdjevic, Aleksi Briclot, Phil Hale, Iain McCaig should have been in the list. I think it's a bit redundant without them.

I was surprised by the exclusion of Bernie Wrightson and Neal Adams. Or Chris Achilleos and Jim Burns. I'm not the biggest fan of any of them, but their influence can't be denied - way more than several of those listed, with the best will in the world to those who did make it (not mentioning any names out of politeness).

    Top 50 influencial Artists

I must say, I was rather shocked that Alex Ross didn't make it into your top 50 influential artists list. I was wondering why not? He's an incredibly talented artist, still using traditional media for comics in a digital age, and adding a new realism to them. Kingdom Come is still probably my favorite graphic novel of all time and Alex Ross shows that Comics can be fine art.

I Like Alex's stuff too, but i don't know how many other artest hes influnenced... ok look at it this way Ralph Mcquarrie imagine fx's number 2 (and i know i'll be hunted down and killed for this) but i don't really like his paintings.... but his art work and ideas have spawned millions of other artists

    Re: Top 50 influencial Artists

There is someone always left out. I thought Kelly Freas might have been in there or Don Maitz. both have had influences on artist. but I agree with most of the list. But I do wish that there was a thread here on this site to see all the cover contest entries up close.

oh oooh - the mention of traditional in the same sentence as comic reminded me of Mercenario, by Vincente Segrelles. I haven't read those in ages... Now, I wonder where I put them...?

(I've no idea who Alex Ross is though - so I hope he doesn't read this. As for Kelly Freas, mentioned by Radish, I don't think I've seen much of his work but from what I recall I wasn't much impressed... I guess I'd better hope he doesn't read this either...)
