Might be a wee bit tricky getting a M4 /R4 ard these days.....as the homebrew issue is being frown upon. G luck!

I have found a net auction with a R4-III card for DS but I just wanted to double check if that card is a go-go regarding colors. I have seen you guys talk about R4 cards but what about R4-III? The auction is due for tomorrow :)

    DS Colors

Just a quick thank you to Gix for mentioning this program (way before it was featured in IFX!). I got it from my mates (with the appropriate DS stuff and a fat DS) for my birthday and have been enjoying going cross-eyed in the gloom (my DS screens are very reflective) creating all sorts of rubbish on it.  It's a very simple but effective program, I like have the restrictions of no fancy brushes or papers or what-have-you.

Thanks Will.  I wish I could take credit for mentioning it because it's such a great program, but I heard about it through a blurb on IFX, but I'm more than happy to beat the Colors drum.  I just hope that people can keep getting flash carts, but nintendo is going pretty hard against flash carts probably because of roms.  Too bad too, because of all the cool homebrew games out there.

Colors is wonderful and I completely agree with Will.  Simple, but highly effective.

That's like selling a pc with windows on it without a hard drive or a mp3 player that only plays songs from one website!

I buy equipment (when I can afford it!) that I can modify, update or otherwise change in some way! What's the point in a ride I can't PIMP IT?Angry

I only have one DS game (sim city), I have a games and music card and free downloaded software it's all I need!!! (Anyone got a new or used replacement screen for the old DS, as mine in annoyingly scratched. A broken DS will do!)

    Re: DS Colors

I tried looking for an Old DS (as a gift for a friend) because I'm broke, and they are kind of difficult to find.  Some storefront websites might have replacement screens.

I  got my R4 and installed colors and it works fine :) but I suck at it so far :( Anyway, now I'm wondering if there is a thread dedicated to posting work done in colors? Dog

    Re: DS Colors

I'm not sure about here, but you can try to talk a mod into starting a colors thread
Colors Website has their own forum.
http://www.cgpad.org has a thread dedicated to Colors as well.

    Just an FYI

    Re: DS Colors

Maybe we ought to start one here? Great idea Jimsvanberg and an excuse for me to get my DS fired up more often, i keep intending to doing more stuff in colours but never get round to it..such a waste.  Somebody start a galley thread for colours work, im sure after Christmas they'll be a few more DS fanatics around these parts.
Or perhaps set a challenge for all DS users.
I read theres a whole new DS coming out pretty soon, with all sorts of additional capablities.
Well done on getting set up jimsberg and Will, arent just a cracking piece of kit, you realiaze how brilliant it is  as soon as you first start playing with colours.

Yeah I would agree that tips on colors would be a great idea. There was an article on starting on the DS and then finishing up on Photoshop in IFX. Plus Colors supports pressure sensitivity which alone is cool.

Man do I hope they ever come out with layers or an undo button.
