thats coming along great comtessa, almost ready for ascot one thing someone pointed out to me is that her breast might be a little on the large/pointy side.

changed mine again, scrapped the werewolf and going with a large mutant sabretoothed one instead

 

Update at last! Glad this is a monthly challenge.

Comtessa - Great portrait. I agree about the crown. It's maybe too cartoony compared to the rest of the elegant pic.

bubs - I'm liking the pig style combat gear. Good concept aswell.

The Darkness - Good to see idea sketches. Puss-in-Boots has a lot of potential and would probably be more fun to paint.

Anyway, I've changed the angle and slapped on a basic colour scheme.
Bad Red Riding Wolf (something like that). I'll think of a better title.

I'm thinking you could have the mutant sabretoothed wolf thingy breaking through the roof? Not that there is anything wrong with your painting as it is excellent

thansk for the input ed, thats one of the ideas i originally played with when i still had the werewolf, its just didnt work for me, no matter how i did it it just ended up constricting the background i want to put in. there will be some debris of the fence though and im looking to add a piggy in half under the wolf (if you look closely its roughed out in the last pic)

By the way I think your version is absolutely lovely You're an amazing artist and even though it isn't finished yet I think it's beautiful enough to be published already

Comtessa - I REALLY dig the way you've done the eyes and hands! Those are the bane of my existence. Just cant get it right ! aaaargh! 

bubs - Lokin' goood. Just an idea : the Pigs have armoour and wotnot which makes its look futurisic/hi-tech. What about givin' the Wolf some metal bits or something ? Cyborg-stylie ?

Jackdaw - Nice. Is that gonna be the sun setting in the background ? Cos that'd make a nice dramatic effect and you could also (part ?) sillouette the wolf.

edart - You got some background story there ?

 
As for me, I also really dig the Puss-In-Boots idea, but i don't think I'll be able to pull it off the way i want and that'll tick me off. ;)
So! I came up with an idea for Sleeping Beauty.....

....is now a nurse who works for an anesthesiologist (i had to look that spelling up! ;) ), and the twist is that its now the Prince who gets "doped" up on morphine and wotnot and needs to be woken up. And I think I'll "scratch" off the 'C' from Prince CHarming....

...now i have to go "Research" women in nurses outfits. The things we have to go through for our art... *grin*

Comtessa, that portrait is absolutely beautiful! I'm in agreeance with the breast issue though. it seems a little big and misdirected.

Bubs, Jack and Dark, great starts for sure. I like how your wolf is looking there Bubs! I definitely get the idea now. It's a kewl one!
