    Re: blender-2.47 is out now

2.5 they are supposed to do some redesigns.
But honestly, once you get your feet wet with Blender, everything starts to fall into place.
But then again, I've only messed around with a couple of other programs, but since Blender was first, I find myself trying to do the same hotkeys and the like in other programs.  If I move from Blender to Photoshop, I find myself pressing the G key for grabbing the image and trying to move it around.  Needless to say it doesn't work.

But back to the original comment.  When 2.5 comes out, I'll write up a quick review.

Gix, I know what you mean. I'm still using C4D in work, and I find myself holding the ctrl key down sometimes to scroll around, I really miss it lol. Haven't got round to downloading 2.47 yet, but hopefully will at the weekend and have a look at it.

Banj, the BEST thing about Blender is the fact that there are SOOO many tutorials both text and video that walk you through it that you can pick it up quite easily. It's the quickest 3D app I've learned yet (still a lot to learn tho) And even some of the modelling video tutorials that I've gone through have helped me with my general modelling skills in C4D. I love it, and of course, the biggest bonus, it's FREE Big Smile

One, just to finish off I don't think I posted this before , but I'd been working through the Gus character rigging tutorial and have got this far, hopefully get round to animating him soon.

    Re: blender-2.47 is out now

I'm not sure if a redesign in the interface is necessary. You sort of lose the interface when you come familiar with the keyboard shortcuts Yes

But I guess a little friendliness doesn't harm Smile

Oh and gix, if i can find my .blend files... i will hand them over to you if you want, and to whom ever else it should serve. Since I haven't been around in ages and i'm sure this will help keep me busy.

Anyways, it's good to see you still at it and even other people. Have I been gone that long?

    There's a guy that I've missed.
    Glad you're back DarkPulse.

As for the redesign.  I really like the current one, you just know how community run programs get when change is coming.  I'm excited about the 2.5, but I really would change very little about blender now.

    Fox, your Gus looks great.

Unfortunately for me, I've gotten swept up with work and haven't had the chance to work on anything fun for about 3 weeks.

    FYI: Blender Game Engine Book

With the release of Yo Frankie (open source game from Blender and Crystal Space), Blender is publishing an updated book that covers the Blender Game Engine and creating games in Blender.

I don't know about others, but I'm looking forward to it.
