    Re: sunday

yeah tbh, that isn't the lighting yet, I was just gonna export a greyscale and light it in 2D after I've drawn the rest, infact only the machine will be left over I think the environments more of rough placing at the mo!

I dont like lighting in maya, well more, I don't know how to properly heh

    thx for critique :)

    today

    Stuff today

I am using the tutorial from december's issue by Michale Dashow -

Render lighting - though each light source will be done separately - main light, side light, and I have some weaker lights underneath

Ambient occlusion render - this is to see the areas where gaps are formed so I know where to darken them when painting in 2D

I have never done something like this so it will probably turn out crap haha

about 4pm out my window hehe =) as u can tell I dont see snow much

Albrecht Durer study for daily sketch

    anatomy practice

drew my mum in pen - copic multiliner 3 different ones - doesn't look like her ha

90sec pen - went angular today dunno why, sometimes i feel angular other times I feel curvy

    90sec pencil done last night

    Re: today

Posemaniacs - cant remember times, 30sec 45sec 60sec and 90sec - still finding it challenging, particularly the awkward angles, but i am getting better!

Life drawing last night - lol k this was "experimental" with water colour and pen, he gets us to try new stuff, I've never used water colour before, it was kinda fun.

Pencil life drawing. Had stupid water colour paper lol.

    30sec ink

    30sec ink

    hand from bridgeman

character ready for colouring in now (***GASP***) this is going to take me weeks lol.

Some Lyn Stone study. This was copied from Lyn Stone as I wanted to try out her style for my children's novel project for college. I will put my own spin on it soon (maybe tomorrow)" />

    Re: today

O god damn it. I so tired at the moment and not paying attention. Actually I think you made the wrong post. I don't make mistakes so logically you must have hacked in to imagine fx and changed the posts around to make me look like a fool. I'm on to you!

Also I better review some of your work. Great work on the anatomy stuff. Keep it up mate, I knew someone was going to post a picture of snow but I'm shocked you were the first (no idea why but I thought it would be someone else)

    Re: today

Today was at college all day, but went to my life drawing classes this evening.

Concetrating on line again really, these were very big A1 size, I have never worked that big! Kinda fun.

The bottom image was very very hard lol, hardest pose i've drawn but yeah, didn't turn out tooooo bad (left shoulder/arm area im a bit disappointed with looking at it now), I was mainly going for accuracy, not too concerned with lines and tones.

    Re: today

    Thank soloman and Phoeni!

Well I drew in art class a couple hours a week age 11-18. lol passed one alevel - art. failed the other 3, got U's. um, did animation at uni but was a total dropout, did some drawing the the 3rd year though. That was all 5/6 years ago. Then started again in december. Been drawing about 8 hours a day for the last couple months... I was always OK, rememeber I used to do my friends' art homework etc, but the highest mark i ever got was a C so i cant have been that good XD

Every single pro I have spoken to has said it's practice, usually 95% hard work 5% natural talent. So that's something always in my head, really I don't give a crap if I do bad drawing's, infact most of my life drawing I don't upload to this sketchbook, it's pretty laughable - all I know is I'll be good one day if I work hard enough. pretty sure of that or I wouldn't bother =)

So yeah, most of this sketchbook is the best of a bad bunch.

    saturday

Well today I had life drawing all day, this is only once a month though.

It's funny the model couldn't make it, so we decided we'd take turns in posing. Then this old lady said, I don't mind stripping and posing, so she posed all day - thanks u old fat lady!!!

Never really drawn a very fat person before, it was interesting and fun.

    Most of these 5-10min each.

    Longer, about 45min

    Same pose, about 5mins

    First Photoshop

well pretty much finished assignment 1 of my course on schoolism.com - I have never done a painting in photoshop before. It's very exciting, I think I prefer it to Painter, though obviously painter is better for some things. I like the PS design. This was all done with opacity and flow with a hard round. no blending etc. It's an interesting tutorial, learn a ton and a half of stuff. bobby chiu is pretty awesome he has explained everything well, next up colouring in :-)

    First of many photoshop images!
