    Re: New Members Introduce Yourselves!

Heya there, I am Liz coming from the heart of europe, I am 23 and really love arts, specially digital arts!

I am working as 2D graphic and concept artist at a gamestudio in austria for over two years now. I myself love to create animation-like graphics (so that they look like a screencap from an animation-movie) I also do a lot paintings but I rarely can share the painted works cause these mainly belong to other clients...I hope that I can learn more about scene, background and lighting in paintings and other graphic forms, but over all I can say that I still draw a lot more than I paint pictures. My goal for the future is to get inside Animation specially for movie or TV series productions ;)

    Hello everyone

My name is Steve based in Seattle but from the UK originally.

Train in illustration and animation now working as a freelance illustrator. Just returned from a contract in Singapore where I worked on a new trading card game called the Spoils. Lots of fun, now getting back to the day to day grind at home.

I of course draw and paint all the time slowly making the transition to 100% digital work which I am growing to love.

Goal for the future... I always wanted to work in Movies as a concept artist/illustrator still hope to make it one day.

Looking forward to being part of this community and meeting all you new people ;)

    Re: New Members Introduce Yourselves!

Hey, i'm Kris from Hong Kong!

At my last year in Secondary school here in a country where we can't buy ImagineFX at a bookstore yet;) I've been obsessed with art since my fingers could put a pencil to paper. I get my inspiration from nature (And the lack of it), having created my own little fantasy world long ago so it could become a place for me to escape when i saw the destruction we were causing on this earth. I'm an environmental and animal person (Obviously) who also loves kickboxing and playing guitar.

I haven't had any training in my art, making it a rule to do my own practicing and learning from other artists. From this, i've acquired a good knowledge of my way around Photoshop as well as loving to use my Intuos 3- my baby.  I stick  more or less to digital art nowadays and i've currently been working on painting realism. I'm planning to go to the UK- hopefully Loughborough, to start on an Art and Design Foundation course then onto animation and Illustration where i can take another step towards my dream career- an animator.

    That's all me:)

    Much lave, Kris

    Re: New Members Introduce Yourselves!

    Hi everyone,

My name is Gibert and i'm from Holland. I've been drawing on every surface that would hold pencil from 4years till about 18...

Sadly enough my step dad forced me a bit towards some education i completely hated and this ended up in me working.. Ever since i have never drawn any picture again.. Now 16 years(omg 34), 2 jobs, 2 kids and a house later i just literly stumbled upon ImagineFX (issue 4) and i bought every copy since.

This brought back a lot of memories and also the urge to create things, to create again whats only living in your mind. I just started using photoshop CS, scanning newer and older pencil scetches. Right now i'm already happy i finally figured out how to work in layers and transparancies, but every day i learn more and more.
Hopefully soon i can produce something that i find worth showing you guys. :D I bought drawing tablet (a6) but i find it very hard to convert what i do onto the screen, because what i do with the pen comes out i n a bigger scale on the screen. (is this with all tablets, or should i get bigger tablet a5/a4?)

Love the works i see here from other people, and i find it really inspiring to see such a diversity of ideas styles and genres

Only leaves me to say, thanx all people from ImagineFX for bringing me back to my path again. Hopefully i can stick to it now. Keep up the good Mag and site.

See you all soon again i hope

    Gilbert

Hi all. My name is Andrew, I've been involved in 3D for a long time now.  Totally self taught, I moved from a hobbyist to doing it for a living a few years back.  I've worked on various things, and now teach it whilst freelancing.  I also sculpt with real clay.

    Re: New Members Introduce Yourselves!

    Hi everyone,

I'm Sara or amilar, I'm 21 years old and I come from Portugal. I'm studing graphic design and I love illustration and digital art. I draw since I can remember.
I found imaginefx in the internet and one day I found it on a store in my country and that just made my day, I never expected to see the magazine in my country but it really was there, to touch and read. I try to buy it every month but it's a bit difficult because the magazines is distributed in my country but in a few number and sometimes the magazines are sold out.
Anyway, I love fantasy and realistic art, but I also like to draw other styles. I draw evvery time I can.
I hope to know more people here.

    Cheers!

Thanks for your offer to help

Hello Armilar, Thank you for your reply. I am having trouble trying to personalize my profile on the site. I would love to put a picture up for my icon when I post like the other memebers but don't know how to do that. I am thinking it's probably my old hardware or outdated software. Then comes the problem of how to upload art to the forum / gallery. So I think knowing how to do those things will help me get started instead of bombarding you with so many questions. Thanks again!

Re: Thanks for your offer to help

Since I'm unable to send a private message for soem reason, I'll answer you here.

    You are very welcome.
About your profile setup: to go to the profile, you have to click in "your homepage" under "Logged in as ..." in the rigth corner of the site. Then click "My community profile" and there you'll be able to change and set a lot of stuff in your profile such as your icon (avatar) and also your signature and many more things.
About your gallery: you'll have to create one. Go to galleries and in that vertical bar on the rigth you'll see something saying "create your portfolio" or something similiar, or, if you already did that, it will appear "artboy01's portfolio's". Click in there and you'll be on your portfolio page, and once again, in the vertical rigth bar, there's soemthing saying "add picture" where you have to click to add your pictures. There's a post in this forum explaining the best way to post something here.
I hope this can help you for now. More question just ask.

    Cheers,
    armilar

    Re: New Members Introduce Yourselves!

    Hi everyone!

I´m Venni from Finland, a 22-year old Graphic designer. I almost died of happiness when i found ImagineFX amongst the art magazines. I was so happy to finally read a magazine about digital art,,,and especially digital fantasy and sci-fi art. I´ve been into digiart for about 8 years now, got my first wacom and really started to delwe into it. Right now i´m working in a company called CCC, we design custom software for clients and corporations. My work is pretty creative, but on my free time i love doing digiart and comics. I will get my own domain up and running pretty soon and i´ll start posting my art here then. I´ve been an anime/manga/japanese pop culture fan for even longer than i´ve liked digiart, so my art is affected by those things. I enjoy movies and books and try to derive inspiration as much and from as many places as i can. I love the ImagineFX magazine and i´m really looking forward to getting to know the people here in the forums too:)
