    Re: Draemar's Art Maze

Well, so much for a comission in here! How the hell was I suppose to know the guy had his mother coming home so often! And having a picture with so much "sex-appeal"

could offend the old lady!!!!! DOOOOOUUUUGH!!!

Well, I'm gonna keep working on it, I'm liking it and there's always some metal bands that might need an album cover!

Gonna make a  different piece now, some landscape with Gigerish guitars rising from the ground or so! He liked the idea!

And here's for some evolution on the subject!

    Hi there to all again!

Due to uncontrollable circumstances I didn't manage  to end one of my pieces for the IFX challenge Creatures of the deep!

I liked it  a lot, so continued working after a quite a  long (too long)  brake from digital painting!

Any crits are welcome! Be well! Wink

    Re: Draemar's Art Maze

    woah, love the concept :)

I too have taken an unwanted break from digital art, maybe i just get back to the old days of drawing on paper a little to develop...be back soon though, can't live without it he he :)

I'm glad you're back in buisness too, about the image...i think it needs a bit more contrast, otherwise it's going nice.

    Keep at it countryman, cheers!

    Re: Draemar's Art Maze

Heh, I love this idea so much!  I did wonder why this didn't make it to the finals thread of the challenge, but I'm really glad you kept at it.  I'd say maybe make more of the highlights from the lantern-trap on the creature's eyes, and possibly the diver's left hand is a little long?  But hey, very cool image and concept, lovely underwater tones, and the creature is pretty damn scarey!

    Re: Draemar's Art Maze

Hi there fellow countryman! Yeah, I may know your thoughts, sometimes I get so overwhelmed by digital painting and it's vantages that I forget about the real drawing scene, in real paper! It's difficult to keep at various borders of art when you just love it! We seem to tend to get carried away from other practices in this great stage that art is. You know, lots of materials, supports and different approaches! Still, as to making business, digital is much quicker than drying oils on a canvas with a hairdryer, he he ;) Thanks a lot for passing by friend!

poppylocke, I indeed considered the thing of adding highlights as you're saying, and 99% I will. The only thing is, under water, there are no specular lights as in "dry environments"! But, as you pointed out the eyes issue, and due to their lenticular properties I'm accepting that and definitelly gonna add it! Thanks a great lot for pointing that out!

P.S. : Why do the images have so much contrast on my screen and when I get to put them on the web, they loose it! I'm tired of calibrating this old screen of mine and never getting anywhere! DOOOOOUUUUGH!!!!

Music [8] Re: Draemar's Art Maze

So I took a little of a detour from my previous works and started at speed painting! This is one of my... fourth experiments, based on the "watch & learn" system from the I-netGraphx tutorials! Still lot of work to be done on it, but it feels I'm getting somewhere!

    Attachment: Skin_Dragon_Wip1.jpg

Been working with this dragon for 'bout twohours and decided to call it a Skin Dragon due to the color theme and other features it will have!

the only thing is, what to put under the wing? I thought about some things but I'd like to have ideas from you people, with much appreciation that is!

Oh, it is supposed to be raining in there ya know!

thanks for passing by and be well!
