Sorry Can't help digging into this one.

This is a preliminary sketch I did yesterday to get me juices flowing. It's being posted late becuase I don't want to get overly enthusiastic. My reputation may proceed me.Confused

Plus I thought it looked cool.Cool

    heh

    Sketch minus one.

think Oakseed is the one putting us to shame, getting the first sketch in.

Anyway, I like drawing cool spaceships and whatnot, so I wanted to do another one (I go into these series of images for a while)

Sketch number zero (so these don't count as points, this is just a warm up to get me started)

I Live in pacific standard time. I think there's an eight hour difference. Is there any other pacific people out there?
    (is that crickets I hear?)

Thanks for setting up this thread it's a great idea.
Most of my  sketching is with trad materials but I need to learn to sketch direct onto the computer.
So this little sketch is with Wacom into Painter

Cool idea Harlequin ! This thread will probably end up as the biggest ever...Happy New Year and Good Luck everybody !

I doubt I will be able to keep this going for more than a week, ( the normal life-span of my new-year-resolutions...) but...

    Spontaneous doodling before my afternoon-shift.

Very nice Ramio! A few people started good, good.

Painter is great for sketching Oaktree.

Oakseed looking forward to your official day 1.

Solomon love your space ship work.

Day one could be a toughie if hangovers ensue.

Here's my first. Some negative space drawings with ref from www.posemaniacs.com, a quick doodle of a very out of it looking Shia LeBeouf and a bit of my Iron Man model.

Off to a good start already.

solomon01 - great spaceship sketches; oaktree - this'll be the perfect opportunity for you to learn to sketch on the computer. Your first one is pretty good already; raimo - I like the pose and design. It reminds me a bit of some of Boris Vallejo's preliminary sketches; Harlequin - the negative space drawings are a good exercise, the Shia LeBeouf is cool, but I love the Iron Man; ninaogsofus - these are delightful sketches. Full of life.

great skills on show - can just tell this threads gonna have some real inspirational stuff in it.  interesting to see that most ppl have hit the paper an pencil, think i'd expected a more digital.

mine is a bit different.. im trying to learn a more simplistic/cartoonish way of sketching and figured this is the perfect challenge

This challenge inspired my resolve to better master my tablet, this year.  I need a -lot- pf practice on it.  I had no clue what to draw for the sketchbook, though, so I literally just picked up my stylus and started drawing.  After a couple false starts a face started to form. :D  There's no blurring on this, I experimented with a number of differently sized brushes and opacities.

I'm also on Pacific, Solomon. :D  We're eight hours off GMT, now that we're no longer in daylight savings time.  Great sketches, folks, everyone's looking good so far!

Whew.  Edited to shrink the picture. :D

I've no idea where this creepy little fella came from, but I figured I'd better have a go at drawing gadgy's, as I find them more of a challenge. I took longer than I intended but as there's no time limit I don't think it matters. Tomorrows may be little more than a scribble, who knows. I used a wacom and pen in photoshop.

chris_scruff - I think we'll all feel like that at sometime during this thread; Nightsong - sometimes just going with the flow is the best thing to do. It's good to hear that you're already using this opportunity for experimenting; Eaglecaste - Loving the textures in this piece. He looks gritty and grimey; martin - great pose and contrast lighting.

Here's my first - one of them Skrull blokes from Marvel Comics. 1pt
