Here are a couple more spiders... After a longer upcoming radio silence for Thanksgiving travel, I'll try to get this finished.

Gix-  I love the perspective you have goin on.  It's a crazy view and it works really cool.

Fates-  The whole thing is great.  The building is great as well as the figures.  You did ask so I'd say the only that doesn't look quite right to me are the stripes on the legs.  I think they may be too defined.  I really dig the image though.

Banj-  more please?  The start is cool.

Dyl-  Awesome awesome spiders.  I like the way you're painting them after moving them from the 3D forms.

Here's my latest.  I still have more to do obviously but it's getting to the point where I can't see it so much anymore.  I think you all probably know what I mean by not being able to see it after you've worked on something a good bit.  If you have any thoughts about something not right so far lemme know.  I dunno if I can change or tweak it right but I'm happy to listen.

Re: Conkers! Official ImagineFX challenge - just for fun

This thread should definately come with a health warning, if you are scared of spiders. These WiPs are terror inducing, which goes to show how good they are.

I know it's only a WiP Banj, and don't take this wrongly, but shouldn't your conkers be brown? Apart from that it's a very impresive, powerful image. I like the way the spider leg leads the viewer to the character. The spider too, is a lurking terrifying menace, not too in your face but enough to give you the heebeegeebies, if you get my drift.

Blizz, this is just ace man, gotta be one of my favourite of your images so far. The story, point of view and details are really good so far.

Dyl, I've never seen any of your work before and so far I'm very impressed. I'm really looking forward to seeing yours finished. Your WiP contributions have been excellent.

Gix, you de man with the 3D stuff. I can't wait to see yours rendered.

Fates, you sum up the story so much with your image. I can almost feel myself in the guys shoes when I view it. Very good indeed.

I have your drift well and truly got. Yes, my conkers should be brown (or green and spikey if they are still in their jackets), like you say it's still early days yet and I just haven't got that far. Have no fear (apart from arachnophobia), I will sort my nuts out by the end.

There is some very good stuff going on elsewhere in the thread though. A good selection of atmospheric angles and viewpoints from everyone so far.

Re: Conkers! Official ImagineFX challenge - just for fun

Thanks, Eaglecastle, for the nice words.  I actually think this might be about my best digital painting so far.  I've learned a load since I joined the site and it seems to be sinking in.  Most of this illustration is just working for me overall.  Case in point: I needed to paint the flashlight and it's a little piece and I thought the angle would give me trouble and getting a good look to it would be difficult.  Last night I went to work on and and in no time at all was like "Holy Cow!  That looks pretty decent!"  Even the details seem to be coming along for me.

Anyways here is what is probably the finished piece.  I'm going to look at it in a day or so before posting to make sure nothing glaringly bad stands out but I think I am mostly satisfied with it.

Re: Conkers! Official ImagineFX challenge - just for fun

Pity I only just discovered this! Far to late to start a pic. Excellent stuff from you all.

Banj: Not really a crit but I am not sure about your character's gender. Looks like a bloke, according to the face and muscles in the arms and so on but the chest looks suspiciously like there are breasts there. Possibly, he goes to the gym a lot! Cool pic and angle though.

Yup you are right. His man baps have been annoying me for a while and I'm going to give him a breast reduction at some point.

They just need squaring off a bit, that's all.

Spent the morning tidying up a bit in Blender.
Created a composite image and added texture in Photoshop.
I think I'm about finished, so any crits and feedback would be helpful before I call it complete.

    Thanks in advance.
