OK Will, talking to yourself again.

Here's the start, done in DS Colors to speed the process up.  I've gone for a post-battle scene, with a character having beaten up an army (against all odds).

A little more work on the DS and I feel I can take it into Painter now.  The knight figure doesn't seem quite exhausted enough for someone who's spent a day slaying things so I'll try and get that sense into the picture.  We'll see how much I can get done this evening, if I can keep the brushstrokes fairly loose.

Not talking to yourself Will. I've been sneaking peaks at the forum, but haven't had time to reply. But now I'm in the middle of laminating 40 pages, so there's time for anything.

I even had a bit of a freakout and did my tax returns after your earlier post. DONE. Thank God for filing online.

Liking your painting... might I suggest possibly broadening your canvas now that you're not stuck to a DS... might help give a bit more 'epic' to it. But composition/forms/colour all looking great so far. Really looking forward to seeing it finished.

Omelmahay- Looking great so far. Nothing like Phil Collins to add diversity to a topic based on improbability.

Jackdaw-  Thats looking class dude, really well done. A lot of character to the 'David' and great atmospheric sky

Zimfin- Liking the colour choices, using R/G/B to seperate the species.I'd be wary for the red guy not to blend in too much with his blood though.

Rabbit- Nice to see some Naruto fanart around here... I think its the first I've seen anyways. Interested to see how this turns out.

As for mine....well, I'm a bit tied up LAMINATING, so I'll get to painting as soon as I can X/

Thanks charco.  Good idea, I may well broaden the canvas, add a bit to the sky and sides or I might just do that for my next picture but I know what you mean about the EPIC thing.  I kinda want all of my pictures to be epic but they hardly ever are.  I think 'Epic' was a challenge title a while ago.

This is all I've been able to do this evening, I think I'm too knackered to go right up to the deadline.  Sleep

I look forward see what everyone has come up with in the finished pieces thread tomorrow.

Still half an hour left for anyone that has yet to enter. Somebody probably should have mentioned the clocks went back an hour in the UK last weekend. Time

I'm starting to feel like a speaking clock... but where would I find one at this time of night?

Charco - glad you liked my Collins

Jackdaw - the mustached guy is that actor who played Webster's father in the sitocm Webster (I think imdb said his name was Alex Karras or something).   I thought he was in that movie and after i put up my final entry, I looked it up on imdb and found out he was.  I was way off on the plot though, and I don't even remember Jeff Brudges and James Woods being in it?!?  That's what happens when you wait too long to start, you end up with inane nonsense, which i'm a fan of.

OK Will, keep going, the thread's over, people have moved on, but you must finish a picture for once.

Here's the picture with some more digi-paint added in Painter X, it's taking shape.

Right, it's done, a bit of fiddling with the colours actually helped for once, I think.  Thanks everyone, I enjoyed keeping an eye on this challenge and wanted to get a picture done so I have at least done that.

    A Happy Hallowe'en to anyone who's around!
