For those of you who don't know about this, we are going to have a bi-weekly challenge to depict a tarot card from the Major Arcana. This will last approximately a year. At the end of the year we will have the full Major Arcana. Two wips and a final are required for entry.

The only real stipulation is that The final image must be in the form of a card, with the card name and number, not just a painting
I will give you a brief meaning, but it's probably a good idea to do your own research.

So explanation and meaning and blabla : Well, I first decided to put two women and one man so it represents the choice to make, the hard decisions. In the BG, we can see one stream that separates in two other streams = the "struggle between two paths". I put lightnings in the sky because I felt like doing it, but I can say that it comes from a struggle biger than one of a single person... the conflict the man have to face. Plus, I may have felt a little bit too much in the romance clichés, but I was in the mood of trying things... ^^" (petal, light coming from... the sky maybe... sunset xD...purple/pink...) The two girls are wearing greek like dresses because I thought it would be nice to include Greek mythology somehow (Apollo, god of love and.. girls XD).

Voilà, I think that's all. I'm really sorry if there's mistakes, I'm tired and I'm too lazy to look back at the novel I wrote to you ^^!

Beautiful entries, all!

It's been rushing to make it this time, but I'm pretty happy about the final result. No reference taken from existing cards this time. The image in my head was too persistent and refused to be influenced... Based the style on Leonardo da Vinci's sketches, and then stepped off that in favour of a pastel look.

well, the vote hasn't exactly been started....but deadline is past so here goes:

1 elo - as with your other pieces, you have a winning combo of awesome lineart and crisp cel-shaded look; like how they all have different skin tones so we can tell whose leg is whose and whatnot in that passionate ordely jumble of flesh, as well as how the rose petal twirls leads you eye around the pic - if I may suggest for your border, you could try cel-shading it as well instead of using that basic bevel

2 rikku - cool vector work there, clever to have the lovers in the BG's heart shape and having them twist together at the bottom

3 komu - nice sketchy feel you have there, those soft, warm colourd work really well - interesting yingyang-y composition with the two lovers

1. Elodea - the colours are well-balanced, as are the three people. Like Heimdayel said, thanks to your choices they're distinguishable from one another. I agree with his/her cell-shading border idea, too :)

2. Heimdayel - do look into Elfquest, your anatomy use reminds me of it so much ;) Your fabrics are, once again, beautiful.

3. Rikkumon - I think vector art would suit your style very well. You did this in Photoshop though, I'm amazed! Your work represents universal symbolism with crisp artwork. Good job!

I've looked t an older challange and realised that these votes go for 24 hours, like the weeklies. And since nobody has voted since yesterday I am assuming nobody else wants to vote just now, so I'm ending the challenge.
