Hm.. I see. But you could balance it up. Her right wing needs more feathers anyway and keep the dark in the same corner and maybe a bit downwards also, push the red in the pictures lower right corner more into the corner. It's a very good picture, and it should have a good chance of winning.

JUST DO !!! (avoiding copyright infringement there lol)

EDIT: i like it the other way, it looks like shes leaning on the round sticker...(if thats where there keeping it)

Wow, some great looking entries already, especially Claires.

I don't know about you guys but I need some sort of theme or else I get stuck thinking of way too many possibilities to narrow it down to one idea. With that being said I'm gonna concentrate on the star aspect of the competition. I usually find I can come up with something more creative if i have a theme or set task.

eeemmm Make one yourself..... pick up a dictionay, pick a page number and go to the first 7 letter word and there you go you've got a theme lol,

Actually might try that myself, just to see what comes up

Here is what I have for now. After seeing the entries so far I have little hope with winning, but doing challenges is a good and fun way to keep drawing and improving. And is my first proper dragon too Smile

It's can be a nice picture. Maybe a bit empety for a cover. But you have loads of time. So why not make a new one if you're not happy.

Just wrote a bit long thing on everyone's entries so far, and its been lost to the ether. Boourns.

In short, everyone's looking great so far, Particularly Sinistral and Echo.

Looking forward to watching these progress. Some of these, you KNOW they're going to be fantastic.

I started with werewolves, and decided to make life hard for myself and do a mech-girl. Completely out of my comfort zone, but I'm having a blast.

Softened it down alot, plus changed the face to make her look younger. not 100% with the face, i might go back to the orginal, but i'll see how the rest of it goes.

Losing a post to the ether is a real pain.  I'm glad you like what I have posted so far.  Personally I like the werewolf lol!  THe mech girl needs something on either side tofill the space or else make her bigger.  Not had any time to work on mine as I've been busy with the weekly and the Mist monthly challenge.  On which note, I was pleased with my Masquerade weekly entry and wondered what it would look like as a cover.  This is the result.  What do you think?

I love the werewolf cover, but then I have a soft spot for wolves, with all this time to finish the covers they're all gonna be amazing, kinda makes me wanna give in now

Grargle, I was afraid of that. Needed to do more women, so no loss. I might work up both. Yeah, I agree about the EMPTY SPACE. I arranged it for the header and sidebar to take up space but I think I left it too open. BLARGH.

I think its a lovely image, although the white light definitely takes away from the impact of the hand and the eyes. I'd recommend toning down the primary light source and adding another bit of oomph to those eyes.
