I've posted my final, but I'm looking forward to seeing all your entries evolve and get finished too. It's looking interesting so far! But cano - I think you need to practice on the "not being funny" part. Wink

Great work radish, the vegetation looks incredible, is it all hand drawn or are you using some brush that I now want? =d

Here's my Sitting Lady with the first few tones. hoping the eerie factor will continue to increase ^_^

nice start and idea DCH. looking forward to seeing this one develop.

sinistral that mask is looking crazy good. But then again your work always does.

Dull she is looking creepy. Any story that you are working from in your head?

cano you have more twists than a pretzel.

Rey like your concept. The same for Voluspa that wasp-woman has a great shape.

and its nice to see some people us men in a different way here too, zephyra and firefaires.

sarah you are good at giving your people their own look. watch the beads hanging down from the mask though.they don't look quite right to me.

poppy your style has changed so much and I am still wild about it. hope I did not forget anyone.

well shoot! my wacom bit the dust and it looks like my skill with a mouse is lousy so unless I get a package in the mail tomorrow with a shiny new Cintiq in it...I may have to fall out of this one.    * crosses fingers*

Tim this is absolutely stunning, the background is breathtaking, love the painterly feel, and i love the subject matter anyway, but this is gorgeous.

    great stuff from everyone

Ok Final wip I think.  Any comments before I post this version? Too dark?

Thaks for the commetns so far (especially Radish- I wouldn't neccesarily agree.  Too often I think my work looks like its the product of a monkey on speed!  Love the detail in that background btw-amazing)

Re: My FX weekly Challenge # 148 'Masquerade' - WIPs

Sinistral, I think it's looking good. There's only one thing I'm not too fond of, and that's a matter of personal taste - nothing to do with skills, really. It's her purple lips... They match the background but I think most women would think more of matching their outfit... so maybe less saturated or somewhat darker would do it... Also I think they should reflect just a bit more of the firelight.

Everybody elses is looking good too. Some day I'm gonna sit down with pen and paper and do one of those nice posts which gives everyone a personal comment (I do enjoy reading those!) but I tend to forget who did what, the moment I press the reply button... Only room in my head for a few things at a time :P (But radish, your environment there is looking fantastic and btw, my "wasp-lady" is a "mantis-lady" just so you know :P)
