Yeah , classic is to be interpreted, usually during the time it was release. Many find "The Dark Crystal" to be classic while some people can barley watch it.

ooh i loved ninja scroll.  also fullmetal alchemist, cowboy bebop, death note, ghost in the shell, evangelion, and of course miyazaki is always so dream-like i love those too.  also went back through all the robotech episodes a while i had a back injury and was spending a lot of time in bed.

For films i enjoyed a lot of the studio ghibli ones (Princess Mononoke, Spirted Away, Howls moving castle) also liked Blood last vampire (as banj said, good but kinda stops as it gets going) Cyber City Oedo 808, The Streetfighter II animated movie, Ghost in the shell

Series wise i loved Fullmetal Alchemist, Elfin Lied & Wolfs Rain and have recently watched some of Black Lagoon

I also liked Tokyo Godfathers, Basically anything Satoshi Kon!!!

Tokyo Godfathers was great, I have that one on my shelf too

favorites would have to include, ghost in the shell (the original, not this new useless one. worst sequel ever!); akira; perfect blue; ninja scroll; grave of the fireflies and of course The Secret Adventures Of Tom Thumb.

anything by studio ghibli is good too.

Raoul Duke: There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

just for the sake of it....anything by miyazaki (duh...it's been said so many times already)...Gungrave - uber cool...little talking but slick....and Serial Experiments Lain, loved the first 1/2 started gettin weird towrds the middle and im yet to watch the last bit...loved the style tho...XD...
