maybe do two variations; give him hair, aand if it doesnt look right, keep him bald. :P Personally I thought it'd break up the image a bit since his head blends with the background. His cape stands out nicely, but his head gets a little lost to me. :) Sketchbook
Thanks a lot you guys, but that's really how I use to work. See, in this piece for example I have a maximum of four layers, one for the guy, one for background, one for the smoke, and another for the beast! I'll add a layer, and if it looks good, merge! Will do try a hair and an elm, or maybe two of them... we'll see!
Well, made some improvements (I hope) for the last half hour on this! I'm afraid the vapor will seem a lot more like smoke, and seeming the tree to have been burning!
Also added a bit more subtle details to the surroundings!
So, after a long brake I went back to the "beast under control of a little trinket" thing! Added a kind of an elm on the guy and tried to make it metal, like the "back plate" over his cape!
Also, made the smoke on the lower left a bit thinner so you could see the larger throat on the beast and added scales on the back head, although these are still in need of work!
Tell me your thoughts people, I know I might be a bit dull as to the progress of my pieces, but I've been a bit insecure relatively to my most recent works and don't know why! Maybe a passing phase!
hey Draemar. you shouldn't be insecure. you're doing a great job here. one thing I see right off the bat right now is that he looks like he's got two elbows though. It looks like there's two joints in his arm.

As for now, I've been asked for a comission on a work/piece after the guy named H.R.Gigger! I don't know if I'm up for the job but I've been having lots of fun for the time being!
The thing is, the guy wants a lot of "gigger" on the painting to put up in his wall back home, and being Gigger a sexual "explorer" on the subject itself, along with many "nuances", but still very clever and intelligent, I'm putting up this piece together! It's a merging between my sexual grasp as to art in it's exponencial for now, as understanding Gigger. As I am finding a lot of my own self in this matter! Never made something like it , so, tell me your thoughts... Alright I'm a bit dirty I suppose! And the client is a guitar player from a band so I might be getting some more work from this piece!
I definitely got a very perverted and sexual thought when I saw this. it's coming along great Draemer, but man. Post that up in a sex-ed class and we won't have to worry about under-agers gettin in trouble.

Don't forget those tiny details and "alien" looks, i see some bodies there, maybe you can twist their anatomy into that surealistic delicious and sensuous feel...er...don't know, just go with the flow :)

if I had a problem with it I would told you or removed it when I first commented. right now it just reminds me of gigers stuff and it's artistically done .
