hey gix!
c'mon man - you have to join in. Your Goblin assassin would be right at home here! Yes there's still a couple of spaces.. but im gonna annouce the schedule tomorrow, so please jump in asap!
yup- no problem using 3d. its just that nobody has done this yet... probably cos of the amount of work involved. although if you already have your own character modelled, then you only have to do your opponment during the round.
A round now lasts two weeks (used to be only 1). in this time you must produce 1 final image and post 2 wips in the thread. this is where things are a bit different.. the wips do not have to be towards your final image- they can simply be pictures of the fight in progress (fips!) - some people have even drawn pages of comic strips of the fight happening - and only posted their final image in its complete form to make it a more surprising 'finishing blow', if you will. But, it is perfectly permissable to post 2 wips then the final version of that image. But the voting crowd can be very fickle...
It is not always the best (what a subjective word) image that wins - if you entertain the crowd with images and banter during the fight, they may be more likely to vote for you. this allows beginners a good chance to compete with the more seasoned artists. and people have won based on their fight rather than the final piece.
this is an elimination tournament - so if we start with 12 contestants, there will be 6 preliminary rounds. The 6 winners from these will compete in 3 semi finals. This will then result in a final featuring 3 fighters. So, if you keep winning your rounds, you will be fighting in a total of 3x 2week rounds. hope that makes sense?
doubt i answered everything there, but i think its a good start. will check by later if anyones got more questions.
and let me restate: Gix - sign up! You know you want to!
