OMG, I had forgotten all about B.O.B....and let us not forget Maximillian. That dude, was pure, red, robotic evil.

Definitely. "The Black Hole" always reminds me of Dante's Inferno.

Plus, that repetitive soundtrack drove my sister nuts. Smile

Saturn 3? That was on the telly the other night for the first time in years - and to my surprise I really enjoyed it this time round. It seemed to be stuck between a Kubrik and a Star Wars stool, but had quite a nice dark malevolence about it - despite it being quite cheap and clunky in places

It had a real Golem vibe to it, mind. Predating Terminator by some years.

But more important, Farrah looked flippin' fab in it - and I was never a fan of hers! Sometimes revisiting an old movie you never thought much of first time round can reap marvellous bounty!

Oh right, I'd forgotten about the music in The Black Hole. lol

I actually had the metal (yes folks, we were tough when I was a kid, no rounded corner, plastic lunch boxes for us!) Black Hole lunch box when I was in school.

I guess I'm gonna have to break down and rent Saturn 3. I've either never seen it, or it was so terrible my mind has tried to blank it out, or it has been far too long to remember. You know my memory banks start shoving old stuff out after awhile. I guess I need an upgrade! ;D

Is it the one where it is just Farrah and Kirk Douglas? The robot goes nuts and tries to wipe them out? (You see, some synapses are still firing!)

If I were to pick a visual robot, it would be a toss-up between Robbie (Danger! Danger!) and C3-PO.

But my real favorite would be R. Daneel Olivaw, from Asimov's Caves of Steel. I think one of the things I endjoyed the most about that book (and the sequels) was watching Daneel's personality evolve. Long before Data, he was an android who desired to understand humans.

All things are possible, if we lose our minds to them.

Data was a good android for the TV series. Brent Spiner did a great job in the Star Trek Generations movie where he had to play an emotional android when he got a chip installed.

    OOoooh oooh a late entry.
I have found what I believe is the most amazing robot ever in any film anywhere!
I have been bowled over by this deadly kill bot that turns out to be helpful.
The design of this machine is brilliant, its stomps about so brilliant and its build quality is brilliant...simply put I think its brilliant...it even has a brilliant spinning saw balde as an arm attachment The way it moves is really impressive, I cant even tell how it was brought to life, its seems like a puppet but moves like a human in a suit as it thunders and clanks about destroying everything in the house.
    Its the robot from Zathura
There,  I think I have won the best robot finders award.

"Sleep... those little slices of death, oh how i loathe them!"

You might think so... but you are wrong. Because there is always Huey, Dewey, and Louis from Silent Running. As good as the robot from Zathura was, he can't grow carrots anywhere near as well as these guys.
