d-art:Thanks solomon1! I'm happy to see so many votes despite the lack of entries.
But, just for the sake of future consideration, I think there's a flaw in the voting process, and because one is not limited to just one vote, it gives a lot of room for manipulation of points especially since you know how everybody else is voting. For example.
Voter 1 votes: 1.A 2.C 3.B
Voter 2 votes: 1.A 2.C 3.B
Voter 3 votes: 1.C 2.D 3.B
Results:
A=6 points
B=3 points
C=7 points
D=1
C wins although A was voted 1st the most. It's because one voter, voter 3, voted against A.
Normally, one shouldn't have the power to vote "against" anyone, but one should simply choose what he/she thinks is the best work. With the point system as it is now, it becomes a bit of an obstacle for people to vote fairly. I must admit, I was tempted to vote to go my way, but I voted as fairly as I could.
We had a single vote per person system and a small minority of people abused it by either creating false accounts and casting multiple votes, or by getting a load of their mates to sign up to the site and vote for them every challenge. We moved to the 3 way system partly to combat this. No matter what voting system is put into place it will always be open to a certain amount of abuse.
Both myself and fabledgoat currently monitor all the votes for the challenges very closely, and the members that cast those votes. We disqualify any vote we know to be cheating (and this has been thankfully rare for a while now). The rest is up to the honesty of the voters. We are able to combat some cheats, but there will always be a small element of mate voting, or perhaps people that don't want a particular person to win. No matter what open voting method is introduced this will always be the case and we can only do so much to deal with it. If anybody has a problem or suspicion about certain votes/voters, then they can contact myself or fabledgoat privately and we will look into it. The current voting is as fair as possible.
