Not exactly sure Kenmo.  They are still in the testing and refining stage at the moment.  Should be in a few months time I reckon, but don't quote me.  It will be well worth the wait as I said before though.

Sorry Kenmo, but No I haven't.  It's all still very hush-hush for the moment.  It's a little way to go to finalising the latest release yet, but I'd be surprised if pricing wasn't very competitive.

The aim of the team is to make it available to as large an audience as possible, delivering a software that is not only enjoyable to use, but capable of professional results in the right hands. I definitely intend to have it in my arsenal.

I just hope there is a better blending tool, the felt pen and palette knives are so primitive, and although the package is designed to mimic traditional mediums, it doesn't mean we have to be restricted by it.

i seriously cant wait for 3 to be released....im a massive fan of 2.5 so any improvements will just be a bonus to me....another blending tool would be cool but i surely dont wanna loose the pallet knife....rumours of improved watercolour abbilities are exciting too....and image editing tools such as cut and paste (as banj said) would be nice also but ive always used paint shop pro for them gubbings anyways so if they are included in the new version itll just be more added bonusses....XD....

Get over to the Ambient forums and stick your name down in the 'beta tester' threads with that same enthusiasm, Stex.  Word is they'll be opening it up to a wider test group for that stage.  Maybe you'll get an early peek at the goodies in store.   I've been in on the alpha stages and it's been very exciting.  Not allowed to say anything interestingly, informative about it though.store.  Not just yet anyhoooo.

Re: Keep Your Eyes Open for the arrival of ArtRage 3 - It's a must have

Hi. I am new here and just got my first issue of ImagineFX with a DVD that has Artrage on it. I got the issue off ebay, I'm in USA and I have to say that this is an awesome magazine, but EXPENSIVE. It is $18.00 an issue and $115.00 for a sub *faints*

At any rate, is this the only thread discussing Artrage? It is the only one that pops up when I click on the folder. I am new to this forum so I might not be doing something right.

I haven't played with ArtRage or the demo of Painter, also on the DVD, yet as I just loaded them but ArtRage seems to be more my price range :-) Any tutorials?

     :-)

Re: Keep Your Eyes Open for the arrival of ArtRage 3 - It's a must have

art rage is a superb peice of kit, its low on cpu for the most part too, and its just a joy to sketch with.  its not like photoshop though so dont expect all singing all dancing photo retouching and all the adobe magic.  but as a paint program its great, esp for the cash... cheap as chips.

there are some tutorials on the artrage website here  http://www.artrage.com/ infact there are some linked form the hoime page.  there is also a vibrant forum with very open users discussing techniques and exchanging ideas.

I use it alot for figure studies, I work alot in watercolours but do most of my initial sketching for pose and composition in artrage.  if you check out nicks sketchbook thread you will find loads fo fantastic work created in artrage, have a look see here http://community.imaginefx.com/forums/thread/10111.aspx

heres a couple of pics I did with artrage if your interested

this one I finished in photoshop but its mostly artrage

Hi Nick, I'm a big fan of your work, and I always enjoy reading your input in ImagineFX.

I have lurked on this thread for months now waiting for news on ArtRage 3. Nick has definitely whetted my appetite. I keep hoping there'll be a release date, but I guess my anticipation will have to keep building.
