    Re: Mermaid

It's really nice, but is her tail supposed to look about 30ft long?

    Re: Mermaid

Thanks, Yian - yeah I liked the earlier placement compositionally, but what Em said was correct, it looked too long (with the assumption that mermaids really existed, anyway : ))

    Re: Mermaid

oh wow that's beautiful simon! absolutely beautiful, the expression on her face is somehow 'mermaidy' if that makes sense, the feeling of sunshine is stunning. I loved the first version but I agree with em.. that the tail looked too long initially, it was like an optical illusion, But i love this flipped, it's just changed the dynamic of it a little.

and mermaids DO exist! *i want to believe, i want to believe* Big Smile

mega image from the mega s!

    Re: Mermaid

Still looks 15-20 feet long...I think I liked it flipped the other way better. I think the reason the tail seems so far away is because of the rock...and how the background water doesn't appear to be very close to her.

    Re: Mermaid

This is a very cute mermaid ! I think her tail is just about the right length.

How this image should be "flipped" depends on what you want the eye to hit first: the tail or her face...Humans usually "scan" images from left to right ( at least in the western world - depends on what kind of writing system you have...) Personally I prefer it like it is now, though I think a well-made image like this one works both ways.

And Kaz, mermaids DO exist !

It's a mermaids equivalent to long legs.
