Have you seen this.  I think it looks pretty flippen sweet.  Its coming out around the same time as the Apple tablet and romours are that Apple want it to be just as populare as the iphone and so the price of their tablets will only be in the 600-800$ mark.  My hope is that Microsoft will get competitive with their prices.  My hope is that I can get one of these things for less then 800$.  I would sell my babies for one of these things if I had too.  But still things would be less complicated if Mic had to compete with those types of prices.  I mean I am probably dreaming.  Sometimes the market can surprise you though.

After I posted this last night I had a dream about the damn thing.  I was in a library full of them.  Kids using them left and right and I was like... "Back in the day, we youngens used to use pencil and pens and we had paper we wrote on."  All the kids ignored me like I was a crazy old person... and then one of the kids piped up and said it was all the artists at the beginning of the century that killed all the trees his teacher informed him so.... : (.  Anyways I woke up this morning really wanting one.  Maybe a little outta guilt ha ha.

Well I can certainly see the possibilities in it....but is the stylus a Wacom powered type or is it just a pen point type device that just presses on the screen? Granted even if it was and had the resolution to support it...it could still be useful but only if there was some sort of pressure sensitivity even like that of the NDS.

Of course I would rather see a demo of a live and working product than a rendered movie...after all...they could make the stylus shoot fireballs in that demo if they wanted too.

Edit: Just finished typing and there's already another post. What a dream....hahaha....never know, maybe it was a glimpse into the future.

Wizard's First Rule

Its true that this probably isn't going to be powerful enough for bigger programs like PS and painter but it will be a lot less heavy and more assessable for taking around with you and sketching at your leisure among other things, then other tabletsPCs have been.  it does have a Photoshop-like stylus paint utility tied into the journal.  I am just excited for the smaller frame of the system.  Because if technology grogresses most likely in a couple years I could see a better digital sketchbook on the horizon.  I would like to have something the size and weight(or at leaste not painfully heavy) of an actual sketchbook rather then tabletsPCs the same size and weight of a laptop.
