    NDS colors painting

    Hello everyone! :]

I tried to finish a painting in  DS Colors, so here it is.

If you have the time I'd like to know what you think :]

    Thanks

Nice painting....lighting is a bit unclear aside from the highlight on her chin....but looks good. How do you like working on the DS?

Yeah, I had some trouble working with the light in this image. I was trying out a new technique for colouring then the one I'm used to. Thanks though :]

Umm, it's a very simple program. So it is kind of only your own skills that limit what you can do. Allthough it's hard working on a format that small with a low resolution. A bit clumsy at times. Handy tool to do scetches in though. If I had a tablet i'd import things from the ds into PS and finish the images there ^^

I can give a link to the playback if you'd like

I know what you mean...sometimes I wish that the screen was larger...but then too much larger and I would not have it with me as often as I do. No tablet???  Nothing??? Wow....so I guess the DS is the only digital drawing you do?

Yeah a link to the playback would be nice....so I don't have to go searching through all those pages. Big Smile

Colours is great. I love the controls, however the screen is rather limiting :(

One of my latest pics was taken from a doodle that i did on Colours. Its great for doodling on the go.

As for a tab try Wacoms Bamboo. It's what i've started on. It's very cheap & is great quality. Oh & try artrage, gimp (which are free) or paintshop pro if PS or Painter are out of your price range. That's how i started :D Tracking down older versions of PS on Ebay is an option but still pricy.

Anyways good work considering the limitations of the software! Great colours.

I rather like it. It must be tempting to import into something with a larger screen for a bit of post production but I think, knowing it's been created on a DS, it's good as it is.

Thanks for the kind replies :D

penabled: Well kind of. I actually get around with the mouse quite well too :P so i do some digital work now and then. But it's very hard to express oneself when it's a bit hard to be presise. Also it takes a crap load of time  to do one little image... Though, it's not so bad, I mostly work in traditional media, think it's kind of stupid to limit myself just cause of the lack of resourses :] here here is the playback :D

Spacejelley: Yah, I know. But colors is great for scetching :] As for the softwares, I got photoshop. Also often use freeware. But even bamboo is a lot of money for me.. Kind of stupid really. I've been broke for a week and still a week to go until next income, lal. Think next time I got some extra money, I'll save some up for an intuos or another brand that is almost as good as the wacom, but a quite a bit cheaper.

Bob: indeed! I wish i could effectively rework it.
