Beginner with Painting scenery and mood

Hi All, My name is William.

I've been drawing figures and characters for a long time now, but now as I am trying to start with painting scenery and environments, I find it difficult to start since I'm having trouble to decide which colors are good for specific mood and emotion.  Is there any way to help myself to get it started? or is this another rhetorical question that everybody has to go through in order to achieve their vision?

All comments and suggestions are welcomed^_^

      Peace!

I'm not sure there's a "right" answer for anything concerning art, but I think what I'd do, is look at paintings (digital and/or traditional) with a dominating colour and try to figure out what emotional response they provoke in me. Others might not feel exactly the same as you do, but when you use your experience in your own paintings you have to place your own interpretations first anyway. (Sure you can paint something a certain colour because a book says it means this or that, but I think you'd get a better response from your own viewers if you painted according to what the colours mean to you.)

I'm rambling so I'll stop before I write an essay...
