    Tutorial Supplement?

I was just wondering if you will be releasing a supplement issue with all the tutorials for drawing human and animal figures.

It would be great to have them all in one place instead of having to go back through all the issues.

     All the best.

    Re: Tutorial Supplement?

    I second this motion.

Am loving all the human/animal figure drawing bits, would be neat to have them all in their own book on the side.

An excellent idea. They could even turn it into a series of publications to cover other tutorials, such as lighting, character design, beasties, etc.

    I like Fabled's travel-sized idea too.

    There was this:

I don't know how well it did. I'm sure if the sales were good they would print another one.

I've already paid six quid per issue, I'll not be buying a supplement.

    Re: Tutorial Supplement?

i have both those books, the bold visions one is lovely, though i confess to not even noticing an IFX mention, so i can't be that big, however i'll check when i get home, The imaginefx one is very good, lots of helpful tips and i can't believe you all don't have it!

    Re: Tutorial Supplement?

I really should look into that one as well. I saw it advertised when it came out but never thought to pick it up cause I had the issues. Now that we're nearly 50 issues in it might be handy to pick it up just so I don't have to flip back through 50 issues to find some great tutorials. : )

Another one of these books would be great too. Same size so they look good on the shelf. Wink

question for the staff, if they mind saying. how well did the book sell for IFX and was it worth the venture to publish it?

    Re: Tutorial Supplement?

Not sure this is the right place to ask this, but since you've been discussing a couple of art books I was wondering if anyone has anything to say on this one:
Digital Fantasy Painting Workshop by McKenna, Martin (2004)

I was checking whether I could find the others you mentioned (including the IFX one) from a swedish online bookshop, and I could. There were a lot of others as well (some costing around a 100 dollars a piece *chokes*) but this one seemed it could be interesting. That swedish bookshop just never describe the books in any detail so it's hard to decide whether they're worth the buy... Also, the above book seemed to exist with two different covers. They were still from the same year and by the same artist, but maybe the binding differed. Forgot to check. The price did, at any rate :P

*checked binding: nope no difference there. Same page count too...
