Re: some of my better traditional pieces

neeko: thanks for the compliment on my pen work :)

heres some more of my traditional work.

the next 3 pictures where drawn for some of my friends on Deviant art, all of which are use charecters they had created.  these where mainly gifts and where used as practice for drawing other peoples charecters, in the future i hope to work on more illustrative pieces based on charecters from books etc.

watercolour, markers and a drawing pen

watercolour, markers, a drawing pen and gel pens

    markers and a drawing pen

the following pieces are not based on my friends of deviant arts charecters and are either pulled from my own head or based lightly on mythology

the main reasn for drawing the next picure was that i wanted to practice drawing see though items in makers, i try and learn something new with every picture wether it is something i havent drwn before or a new technique as i find it helps me improve.

I drew this for halloween using a drawing pen and coloured it useing markers and watercolour.  big hats are the way to go :D

this is may latest traditional picture and was finnished in december 2008.  it was based loosly off babylonian mythology and is called mother nature.  in this picture i drew tiamat whois known for her chaos in on of her calmer moments, she was associated with churing water and chaos usually and was conciderd as the mother of the gods.  i picked a water fall due to the churning of water they produced.

matrials used:-    drawing pen 01,  markers, watercolour paint and pencils, acrylic paint, white ink, gold ink and a white gel pen.

for those who do not know the babylonia myth of creation tiamat is slain by her son and from her body is created the heavens and the sea bead, her eyes are pieced to form two flowing rivers and her tail becomes the milky way (she is sometimes discribed as a dragon other times not), from the earth her body formed and the blood of another one of her sons mankind was created and so i found the title of mother nature to be very fitting for the piece.

Re: some of my better traditional pieces

thank you.  your comment made me happy even though i am very far off been a pro at drawing, it is so nice to know that my traditional work can inspiere some one to pull out there paintbrushes and canvas again. its like such a wow feeling especially since i'm such a beginner and only working on my technique in the last 2 years or so (i dont count studying art at GCSE and Alevel... as i never put the effort in to learn about it back then)

thank you again and i look forward to seeing the traditional paintings you create.  i took alook at your online gallery you have really nice pecil work which is so well executed :)
