The idea was to take an ordinary object and see what you could link it to. I started with an umbrella and linked it to artists who use objects in their work such as Julian Beever, Dave McKean and Dali to nature (relating umbrella anatomy to spiders). Spiders to other animals to distorted animals like the work of Michel Gagne.

cool imagination,  that would make a spooky 3d model too.  im not liking the black web frame you have there cause its distracting from the spiders.

But the webbing is also derivative of the umbrella...I think it looks fine.

If the web looks more soft than any other elements in that picture, it would be so nice to interpret the theme and concept clearly, I guess. =)
