    DinoMonsters, new Superheroes.

I was working hard for the past 3 months.
I quit my job in TV company to start a career as a cgi artist with emphasis on character design. This is my first serious venture into the field.

Note: If you got interested in the concept past this thread and this image, be sure to visit home of DinoMonsters at http://www.dinomonsters.com
The web page is filled with number of really good looking renders(but be the judge for your self) turntables and other fun content.

They are group of characters called DinoMonsters.
They are mutants, half man half dinosaurs, Superheroes that protect mankind from extinction!
I'm trying to make them into a comic book/character art book/toy, and what not, and push this thing further.

Beside developing this idea, I'm using DinoMonsters to showcase my skills, to try and get some commissioned work my ways cos I'm unemployed!

    Comments more then welcomed!

I hope you have enjoyed DinoMonsters! I'm looking forward to share the comic book in near future.

    Regards!

Heh, a variation on the idea that made the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so popular. As a showcase for your talents it could work very well. It's quite apparent that you're in the early stages of the concept though.

The development section, looks more like a ZBrush runthrough rather than a showcase of your ideas

The team overview is informative but unexciting, needs more visual content rather than one relaxed static pose per team member.

The comic adds nothing to the concept. Basic man, just a dino hand grabbing a grunt.

A serious kickass team needs serious kickass enemies, this Turtasaurus guy looks good, develop him, everyone loves bad guys.

I'm at the beginning definitely as you remarked. Point is I didnt want to show all the ideas and all the content I have made up until now as I want to run a comic book series. Now, if I have chosen to show all the enemies and everything about the story, nobody wouldn't want to read it anymore, and find out something they allready know. Im nearly showing basic characters-superheroes around whom this story evolves. The comic book part was just an excercise into the field of comic book. Im still looking for the style.

I just wanted to see the reaction to the character design, to confirm to myself if im on the right path or not.

    Thx for commenting :)

Hmm, I take the opposite view. These Dinomonsters are mainly presented as fully realised character concepts destined for a number of uses, you've even provided three sixty turnarounds for a couple of them. The comic looks more like an afterthought tagged on the end.

Don't get me wrong, these initial concepts look superb.

great images here damir. the rendering is great but the one thing I do see is that the heads seem a little small compared to their bodies. great stuff though. reminds me of the comic book Elephantmen.

    Hi damir

lookin good, had a trawl of your site wich looks great.

I would be tempted to put some kind of animation on the home page though, it looks a little static with just the background image, I could also fix the position of the background, at the moment on my monitor it scrolls and the menu is lost off the top, if you set the bg as fixed and non repeating, as there is no other content there is non need for the menu to scroll off the top of the page.

the images look great, nice concepts, I hope the characters have been defined too, as for the comic, I look forward to seeing how your going to put that together, Im assuming it wont be posed and rendered in 3d throughout... unless you have endless hours to play with! Smile

look forward to the next update
