    Re: Fightclub Tournament Hotel Lobby

lol, yeah - philby is very right about this. theres been at least half a dozen threads.. the problem has always been that the idea of fightclub is explained early on.. but then the threads get 15 pages long and they're hard for newbies to trudge through. but hopefully the blog/site gix set up will be a good way to contend with the confusion and stuff. maybe we should get a FAQ together?

foxy, gix -  we should get together and go through couple of these ideas at some point? maybe in one of the chatrooms?

    Starfox:
It was a great idea of Gixs for the blog, even after about the sixth or seventh fight a while back I started to lose track of where they were. It could even be home to Loserville now, although imagine trying to update that now! Doesn't bare thinking about, although it's not beyond the realms of possibility. At least you know the multi user wordpress thing works Gix, opens up a lot more possibilites!

As for subject of the continuity of fights (I know it's in the other fight thread but thought it was more sensible to mention here), think this is the first fight I've done properly in a storyboard format. I like it because I think it's more entertaining for viewers to watch when there's a bit of a story going on, but I never see a problem with rewriting whats been going on, if it takes you to where you want to go for your final image. I guess it just depends on whether you want the audience to follow the story through and maybe get votes based on that, or whether you want to rely on your final image for the votes. Me I'm gonna rely on the story board this time round lol, cos I really don't know how the hell I'm gonna beat Nameless Angel lol.

lol - imagine trying to do the Loserville signpost now! haha, you wouldnt be able to see it for bodies!

know what you mean about continuity alan - that last fight of mine was the first time i'd done it too.. was such good fun to doi it, and yeah - was forced to get really creative. there were times i considered saying "yeah, well bob passed out - and thats what he was dreaming... but this is really what happened..."   but i didnt, i rolled with every punch and came out with a strip that way exceeded anything i would have done if i'd altered the story.

all that said - i have no problem with rewriting a story - or even just taking a few shots at ur opponent ignoring the narrative altogether.

i think having an environment that the fight is set in really helps the creativity too - cos its easier to write architecture and props into the flow of things. means there's more to work with.

but the problem with narrative is that it can go a bit mental... see my current fight with gix if you need an example Indifferent

    Re: Fightclub Tournament Hotel Lobby

quote: Chris-scruff - im not 100% what you mean about the training idea  -but if you have any ideas (including this one) we can chat about them in the other thread here.

Getting back to it. Looking throug the multiple threads FC related I thought (it been mentioned by others) that FC needs some system. So what I sugested was. For example we can have this threads dedicated to it.

1 General, which could be Free For All arena or. Will contein cohirent comic Anyone can join and fight 1, 2, 3 or whatever amount of opponents desired. One thing thought you have to continue from the last posted picture, doesent matter yours or opponent. Like that we will have a story with a twist I think. So like that, any one can join a fight without breaking a rythm and story. but adding an alternation the others have to react to. You snoose you loose. Was too slow, have to use imagination and catch up. It be alsow a tread for introducing a new charecter. So basicly Itll be a social life of FC thread. Intreractive too. :)

2 FC Training facility. A class for a new fighters. Where you also alowed to fight anyone you whan according to rules two figthers agree upon. Rythm of this thread is have to be like in step by step strategy. - One draw his move you have to wait for opponent to respond. This will give opportunity for people to think about their next move without tragedy of geting back to forum and finding their charechter in peices. People that have some skill can give newcoming fighters advice how to set a story board come up with a consept. ets. Im realy would enjoy this one. I see a possibility to emprove my techniques of drawin a person in a movement. Some of you guys are awsome at it. I wouldnt mind peaking  you brain. (classes of that kind can be organised everywhere)

Another thing while Im at it. In a similar way a Portret class can be set up. For example. Kazky, Eaglecast (first ones came to y mind) would make an exelent teachers. Matt painting and Still Life, the same thing. Creature creation. etc So we would have the Imagine FX University. From artists to the artists, by the artists. I never went to school for it so I wouldnt mind to learn couple of things. I got carried away though :))

3 official FC FX Tournament. Strictly to buissnes. I thing you got that part down to the T.

Basicly everything is the same besides few details.

Like I said It just a thought. Im new here so I dont want people think that im getting pushy.:)  Nothing like that in my mind. Im with the majority. I just thought that one cohirent comic strip that ony one can add to would be just Awsome.

Does It make sense to anyone?

    Thanks

    Re: Fightclub Tournament Hotel Lobby

I don't really think we need all those different activities going on at once. I thought what were were trying to do was streamline the whole thing so that people didn't have to search through zillions of threads to find what they wanted. I think the individual fight threads work well enough as they are, we just need a dedicated general chat thread, where things like recruitment and organisation goes on.

    AW CRAP!!!

I think my Wacom is conkin' out on me! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! What terrible, terrible timing!

It's wierd...I can select functions...tools, tool bar, items on the desktop, ect. But it absolutely will not make a mark in Painter. I have not changed ANY of my settings. It makes no sense. I've restarted, unplugged, replugged...I just don't get it.. ACK!!!!

I'm sure I've got a mouse around here somewhere. Talk about stepping back a few years...*sigh*

*OUCH!* That was Serena slapping me upside the head. She says "Quite your b*tchin', get offline and figure your shite out! I've got some serious damage to deal still!!!"

    Alright, alright. Sheesh....*rubs head*

    G'night all, wish me luck!
