    Re: Blender 3d

It seems to be working... I'm downloading now.  This is something I'm definitely going to have to figure out how to create and do to.  Man there's a lot of stuff that I just don't know.

    Re: Blender 3d

Heh, the next one i'll go through the process of getting to that stage and then do the textures. With voice if i can get it working, only using this free thing to capture but not sure if it does voice. Also the screen isn't clear but clear enough to see what i'm clicking. I'll tell you the keys to quickly access menu's and stuff on the next one also Smile

[Edit] Also on the video i couldn't do shortcut keys because the capture program blocked me from pressing the F1 to F12 keys, but without sound it's better that way i guess

    Re: Blender 3d

Hey DarkPulse... I just watched the video you put together.  I got some good stuff out of it.  Thanks.  As I said, when I get time, Probably this summer.  I'll host some of the images and the like on my own website (with your permission of course).  One things you can rest assured of.  There's no sound.  Smile

    I know you were worried.

My wife and daughter are gone for the night so I think I'm going to spend some time watching other Blender tutorials.

    Re: Blender 3d

Heh, glad you got some stuff out of it. If it benefits you, do you want the tutorial with the photon lamp (the red glass orb)? I'll ask just incase you don't want one Smile

I know what you mean about time Sad we need more of time! or a better way of handling it. But sure, you can host them on your site Big Smile

Damn soundSmile If you want another tutorial, I'll hopefully have it either tomorrow or monday. This one will have sound, with my stupid voice, oh the horror. And it will be longer, taking note of shortcut keys and such.

    Anyways, have fun.

    Re: Blender 3d

It's all good.. I really do appreciate it.  Would a screen shot tut be easier for you (like the one you posted on my sketchbook)?
I would like to have a general understanding of how to do the photon effect.

As I said, tonight I'm watching the Blender Basic series.  For anyone else that's stopping by to check out the Blender thread, I came across this site called learnblender3d . I haven't been able to check out there video's yet, but the Blender Basics is a pretty good series.

    Re: Blender 3d

Hey Gix, I have done another video tutorial, this time with sound Sad and damn my voice is rough, stupid northern accent hah Smile

Downside, it's really large with sound on. I compressed the sound but it made no difference. It's 63mb so it'll take a little time to download, but hopefully it will be worth the wait.

[EDIT] Uploaded the wrong file, oops. Here is the link again.

Oh, and in the tutorial i show you how to do the chrome effect, adding lights, planes, UVSphere, setting up a bit of yafray and photon light! with glass material, textures and such. Big Smile

    Enjoy!

    Re: Blender 3d

That's awesome.  I'll have to download it when I get home this evening.  I'm using some of the information that you showed me from your last tutorial... Is it possible to put one object inside another and have the top object be transparent so you can actually see what it contains?  I'm trying to do that right now with my hourglass, but I'm having a problem getting the materials to show through (especially using Yafray).

    Thanks.

    Re: Blender 3d

My Syringe has liquid inside the glass material so i think it can be done. I'll go and test right now to see what i can come up with Smile

Glad some information helped, and i've a look at your hourglass, looking great so far Yes Only crits is the texture, but i hope my tutorial will show you that.

    Re: Blender 3d

Gix, i had a look at glass and came up with something. First of all i used a photon lamp with 2 spot lights and 1 lamp. Face it to a glass cube and put a ball in the centre. First the lights lit up the area and the glass cube. The photon lamp then lit up the area inside of the cube making certain areas visible. Pretty cool.

If that doesn't work for you, i have another solution. You can either add a lamp inside the glass, or when you put the material on the thing inside the glass. You can use the Emit and slide it up. The material will then be used as a light source in a way. Haven't tried these, but i'm sure these would also work.

First i'd just try and use a photon. Oh, and on your picture, i noticed your light source angle is low, thats why the top glass is less visible. On my video it shows you how to add a photon light Smile

    Hope some of this helps.

    Re: Blender 3d

Hey DarkPulse, I was just able to down load your tutorial (unfortunately, work has been crazy with end of the school hear meetings)... Anyway, amazing work, learned a lot about Yafray in under the first three minutes.  Great work, and I wanted to let you know, you're voice is just fine... It's nice to hear my computer use an accent that isn't American.  Stick out tongue

    Re: Blender 3d

Hah, Thanks for the mock Smile, I tried to keep it clear. I work up early and recorded my voice, hopefully not to give my accent time to wake up. People say we have a Jordie accent, but i beg to differ Big Smile

Gix, i'm glad you learnt something. I tried to run through all the keys i was pressing and what i was doing. It took over a dozen goes to record it right. Hopefully you can implement that into your workflow. Anyways, good luck with that Yes

Here's some practice from DarkPulse's tutorials... The part that I really like is the screw driver.

Since I don't know how to do more than one attachment at a time... Here's the same bench with homemade textures.

But first, as posted in my sketchbook.  Playing with the UV mapping portion of Blender.  (This definitely has some potential once I figure it out).

    And the other bench (below)...
