Hi Peeps, my names Jon, I'm 36 and live in Manchester where I work in a busy College.
Pretty new to digital art, I've had a few commisions doing comic style artwork but what I want is to get to grips with photoshop and getaway from my usual "Ink and colour" look and get a more "painterly" feel to my art. Hope to get some tips and inspiration from everyone here!!!

I just heard/read about the new Imagine FX forum over on CGTalk, so I thought I'd come over and check it out. :)
My name is Tanja, (I usually go by Tatiana on the boards), and I'm currently working as a junior product designer and illustrator for toys (from plush to over-size animatronics, from original art to licensed, cute and/or creepy). I've been doing some kind of creative work since I was 15 (did portraits/caricatures at the local amusement park during high school and summers) although when I first went to university I studied veterinary medicine. Finally came to the realization that I missed focusing on my artwork so I transferred and studied communication arts and illustration. Learned digital illustration on the job for various multimedia projects starting in '92 and haven't totally stopped since. Went back to school a few years ago to study CG animation and design as I'd really like to work in the animation industry as a visual development artist (character design and concept art).
While the first cover of ImagineFX was a total turn-off for me (I didn't bother to check it out any further with the type of advertising I saw and the male market it appeared to be focusing on), I've since learned the error of my ways and have most of the issues now. While the artwork isn't always appealing to me (big boobs, semi-nekkid "women", and "communicating with my inner reptilian brain" just don't do it for me), I seriously respect the skill-level, techniques and all of the artists who contribute to this Fantasy and Sci-Fi digital art magazine. I sincerely hope to learn and improve my own artwork from these digital and traditional masters.
So, here I am!

My name is Laura, I'm 24 and I've been a computer game
artist (3D modeller and texturer) for a year now. Although I get to do
3D art all day it doesn't quite scratch the drawing/painting itch, so
I've been doing some photoshop painting in my spare time and ImagineFX
has been very inspirational!
Before my job I did a physics
masters at Oxford... I've always loved art and games and I'd been
painting and tinkering around with 3D programs for years, but it took
me until the last year of Uni to realise what I wanted to do !
I am also rather geeky and I play magic the gathering.
My name is Patrick, I live in Miami, Florida USA and have been drawing as far back as I can remember. I got hooked on digital painting almost two years ago, when I got my first Wacom (best investment I ever made), and since then have been obsessed with digital art.
I'm so glad ImagineFX went into publication, considering there's a very limited amount of books on digital painting techniques. It's great to see the ImagineFX website up and running and hope to learn more from everyone here.
My name is Mohanad, i'm 18 years old..and I'm from Iraq, but i live in Norway now.. i think i have been here in about 5 years now..
I'm now a student, and this is my last year before i go to University. I study biology...
I didn't know anything about digital art before i saw the amayzing magazine; Imaginefx.. when i saw it i really started to love the digital art.. i really don't know much about all kind of art.. but it has always been a part of me that have been intrested in art and fantasy... and such things..
To be honest i have no skills at painting and colouring, but i hope that some of the tutorials in website like deviantart, and in magazine like imaginefx can help me start from some where!
The thing in digital art that made a really impresson to me, was the tool that you can use to give life to all your ideas and fantasy you have in your head, and share it with other people.
I hope i'll learn some new stuff from you.. and i hope i can share some thing with you.. it don't need to be art does it? :)
last i have to thank the imagine fx team for the great magazine, and i wish you good luck :)

Hi everyone. My name is Stephen, I'm from Lancashire (UK) and just recently completed my illustration degree. My main interests lie in sequential art, but I've also been known to dabble in a little 3D I've been working digitally for the duration of my uni course, and ImagineFX has been a great source of inspiration this last year. Hobbies include gaming (mainly DS and Game Cube) and I also play guitar.
Hi everyone! My name is Yngve and I'm from Norway, 24 years old. I'm currently just a hobbyist when it comes to digital art. I started drawing about 2 years ago, and shortly after that I bought my first tablet and went digital.
My dream is to become a professional illustrator of some kind one day. Concept artist in the computer game industry preferably :) I've never had any art training, ever. Everything I know I have learnt from online tutorials, art communities, books and some self-exploring.
I'm playing with the thought of going to art school to study illustration, but I am unable to make up my mind about it. AArghhh!
Good luck everyone on the new site, looks awesome so far!

I am Robbie, turn 30 in a fortnight, and I'm from Liverpool.
I currently work in QA for a console manufacturer/games developer who are kind enough to fund me on a foundation degree in multimedia/animation.
I did attend art college in the days when digital art was deluxe paint on the amiga :) but various personal events led me to giving up art for almost 10 years. I discovered digital art about three years ago and all my passion is coming back with each new skill I learn. I mainly use photoshop and 3d max.
I have been a subscriber to the magazine since the beginning, very inspiring.
Though I rudely barged into in a different forum to introduce
myself, ToKy0 Cr0W's thread was a very sensible idea so I'll say hello
again here. Hello!
I'm 31, a wannabe illustrator doing digital
paintings alongside traditional life painting and doodling for the last
few years. I did a degree in Graphic Design last millenium but I
wasn't much good at it - I only liked the drawing. After having a
fantasy picture of mine published in Imagine FX I've been greatly
inspired to do more and will be endeavouring to stick a digital
painting or two online on a weekly basis. If there is any demand whatsoever I can share work-in-progress stuff as that outnumbers the finished pieces by far.
I've also got absolutely no comments in my web portfolio as yet (good
or bad) so do give me some feedback - I'll be happy to share my
thoughts and advice if anyone wants it.
Cheers again to the ImagineFX team and many congratulations to Rob too.
My name's Jennifer. I have only recently moved into digital art, but I have been drawing since I was a kid. I have a hons degree in Computer Animation and Digital Art, but the digital art side of it was a joke think we only used photoshop once!!. I had only ever used painter and photoshop a little despite them being on my computer for ages until I bought Imagine FX. I have now ordered a graphics tablet and have subscribed to IFX. So I've only just started but I hope to get alot better and team this with my animation skills to eventually get a job in the industry.
Adam here. 27 and living in Ontario, Canada. I'm a full time marketing assistant (Graphic Designer) and a part time cook at Kelsey's family restaurant. Been illustrating since I was young and do it more for a hobby right now though I wish I could do more of it. Working two jobs kinda sucks when it comes to your free time.
I work in Photoshop primarily for my illustrations and I use a mouse rather than a wacom. Hopefully sometime in the near future I'll be able to purchase a wacom and start concentrating on my art a little more.
Hope to see ya around the boards.
Cheers!

My names Nick, I'm 25 and I've been working as a Concept Artist in the Video games Industry for just over a year now. I work primarily with 2D apps like Photoshop and Painter, though I've started sculpting and I'm currently writing a story for my pet project 'Exula'. I'm eyeing up Zbrush, so I might also do something with that in the new year.
I've always drawn to some degree or another, but it's only in the last 3 years I thought I could make a go of it, before that it was just doodles and what not. I love many kinds of music, but notibly I'm a Prog Rock NUT. I love Curry mmmm Madras...and I'm a complete tit when it comes to spiders...I leave them to my girlfriend :P
Good to be here, I look forward to seeing what everyone can do ^____^
my name is Nicola aka Laska . I live in Germany with my 4 kids and my partner. I'm 41. I have no training in art and I can't draw. So I'm glad to use 3D sofware. I teached myself in several 3D programs the last years. Most of the time I'm using Poser. I'm also creating characters and textures for Poser since 2003...
