Oh SWEET cover!!  I can't wait for this issue!  Michael Whelan is one of my favorites.  He's got a lot of art as covers for Anne McCaffrey books and he did art for the Stephen King Dark Tower series.  He did the cover and interior illustrations for the last book in Dark Tower.  I was able to get an artist edition signed by him and he is the coolest guy!!  I found a Stephen King autographed first edition on the internet for a present for someone and bought a copy for myself through the Michael Whelan site.  He let me mail him the Stephen King autographed book so that he could sign it as well and then sent it back to me along with my signed book AND a free signed lithograph of his White Dragon piece that was also the cover for Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern book titled "The White Dragon". 

Michael Whelan is SOOOOOOOOOO COOOLLL!!!!!!!!!!

I can't fix it if I don't know it's broken.

For me this is one of the best issues produced. I love the new diversity of workshops in this issue and in 48. Long may this continue as it was looking like the workshops were in danger of being produced in a cookie cutter formula. I really enjoyed Dave Kendalls workshop last issue, very refreshing. This issue I loved them all.

You've got double chuff, Marcus, 'cos I'm chuffed for you too, mate.  The very least you deserve.  Here's to the next phase.  Well OK, I'm not sure what that is, but it's one step up from where you are now.  At the very minimum you'll be a bit taller.

Thanks Nick and Harlequin. Well, Phase II was a short lived idea for a follow on to Star trek which eventually became Star Trek: The Motion Picture, and then evolved into The Next Generation. Phase IV was about super intelligent ants. I don't know about phase 3 though, so I may be able to use that one without any rights infringements.
