It was difficult to choose my 3 favourites but here they are:

1 Bnon I still very much like the circus-like look and the technique you use
2 Fragg It looks like a painting but at the same time very real.
3 radish57 I wish I had the same amount of texture as yours in mine. I also like the setting, it makes me want to jump into your drawing.

My votes:

1. Bnon. I'm in love with the style you've used and how everything works together so well.

2. ZephyrA. The colours you've used in your work are absolutely stunning.Everything just pops out at you, and it's so pretty. I really like it. :3

3. Fragg. I'm a fan of grunge, and you've used grunge! I like yours a lot, particularly the sky and the ambient lighting.

~ Oh, and ZephyrA, you're looking at twins. :P Lots of people think they're girls, but they're not (don't suppose I can blame anyone for getting the gender wrong, though). Thanks for your vote.

Everyone did a great job. I've never done a challenge before but this one was awesome fun - will definitely be looking to enter the next one too.

Here are my choices--tough as usual:

1- ZephyrA:  Aside from the excellent execution, this one gives me a "Space:1999" vibe with the city sailing through cold space on a chunk of rock.  I loved that sci-fi show from the 70's.

2-Stereo: I commented on this one on the WIP thread because I liked the composition and it has a strong emotional element.  I didn't pick up on the fact that they were supposed to be twins (so maybe that could have been made more obvious) but still a great, impactful piece.  The emotion and implied story edged this one for me.

3-radish57: Flawless rendering of a fantasy landscape.  Great detail with the birds, and waterfall and the people walking around.  Those elements really ground the piece and pull it together.  Worthy of selling or hanging on display.

Many other great entries on here: 

Mindbender:  Terrific "slice of life" detail.
Dood: Great concept with the floating city in the clouds, but I thought a bit more color would have punched it up a bit.
Mistress:  Great first entry (love the peeking bunny--you should hide that in all your works as a "signature.")
Bnon:  Great perspective angle on your piece and the limited color palette works very well (excellent choice).

1. Zephyra- Very well done! Very surreal as far as the floating in space goes. Personal note, I liked the crooked/collapsing tower that you had in your first few Wips. Sometimes I like images that look a little unbalanced

2. Fragg- I really enjoy the look and feel of this painting, you pulled off the grunge look nicely

3. Stereo- I give you props, the fiery/sunset background is well executed, and is brimming with drama. Well done!

 Some honorable mentions

De-dood - Great job with your first contest! I admire the amount of work and detail in each of the buildings.

 Radish- I love hidden cities of old. Like everyone else, I really like the texture put into the piece.

Mindbender- Right along with Stereo, as far as mood and feeling injected into the painting. I love the crack!

Alex- Great work with the Pagoda look, and I really like the clarity of the image's detail.

Mistress- This piece probably has the most energy of them all, and the bunny disturbs me..... 

 

hehe. Perhaps I DO need to hide a lurking bunny somewhere on my paintings?
