@ EmmaPaw - Somehow I figured this image has WIP stamped on it...for life! LOL Thank you for the CC, especially for the color. She really does look "flat", mostly b/c I did NO studying of the anatomy and facial planes and how the light reflects on it. Colors - a big problem of mine. Somethings telling me, you either get it or don`t! I have no idea where to use reds, greens and blues, nor did I know there are any of them in a skintone. ATM I`m working on the pixie image, and so far with no success...she looks too plastic, too fake, and no matter which brush I use (for the skin), and how much attention I pay to shading and colors, she looks like a "blob" of something, just like this one. Well, off to downloading tutorials I go. Btw, thanks for pointing at them!
@ Yian - You know, there I was thinking the shoulders actually looked ok! Just shows how little knowledge of anatomy I have. Good thing I have that big mirror! Guess I have to "strike a pose" and see what`s going on in the shoulder area!

Hi Pxel Slayer - welcome to the forums! Thanks for leaving me a comment and checking my sketchbook, it always means a lot when people comment, good or bad it all helps in the long run!
As for CA - well I too have a sketchbook there, and it is indeed difficult to get feedback - you have to stick with it and eventually the odd person will look - I really value that site, if it wasn't for the sketchbook sections, I wouldn't have anywhere near the ability I have learned thus far. It is VERY cliquey though, if you're not in the "main clique" then don't expect much lookins. I am going to stick with though, I'm sure it's worth it in the long run!
As for your work, looks good so far - I love the soft lines and compositions in the work, the ladies have great bodies, you have a good style. I like the digital portrait, to me, it just looks a little like it's lacking some experience in the digital realm, I have seen waaaaaay worse and it's a lot better than my stuff a couple months back!
I would definitely recommend uploading your deviantart stuff on to this sketchbook. People on this site won't go to external links to look at work, you can ask 'em but it just doesn't happen :-)
..."it just looks a little like it's lacking some experience in the digital realm"...
I mean, really...this is not the time to be diplomatic, you know! Feel free to say "dude, your Photoshop called to say you suck!" LOL
Also, one other thing - people keep thanking for visits to their sketchbooks. That`s kinda unusual, I think. I look at all the sketchbooks, but mostly post in those that I really like, and see as a place where I can learn from the, shall we say, owner of the thread. I should be thanking you, really...
The weird looking lady has been put away till I`m in a better mood. I`m working on Tink there, the little rascal, and she sure has prooven to be a handfull. Each time I fix something, something else pops out...Here, have a look. I KNOW something is wrong, I feel it in my bones, but - what? Not the colors again, please, dear Lord, not the colors...And I`m still trying to figure out how to set the lightning, where it would reflect, how to get a smooth looking skin without making it look like plastic and other details. Anatomy...yea, I know...I know *

hey man. i know you just said that you think its wierd that people thank you for checking out their sketchbooks, but seeing as you are the second person to view mine in its existence i felt the need to thank you again. seriously, you take a bit of time to do something nice and karma comes back at ya!! so thanks again.
your sketches on here by the way look great. they have a very clean edge feeling about them, you can tell you take your time with these. and to call that portrait a sketch is a sin i think. maybe a work in progress, but thats the most refined looking sketch ive ever seen. i know you keep saying your tired, but keep uploading more if you can because they are looking good man.
Tired...that one you got right! We are all here to learn, right? Sure, some of us know less than others, but given time we all grow. I feel like my one-year-old nephew. He`s just learning to walk, just like I`m learning to paint digitally (and paint in general. Haven`t picked up my watercolors since 8th grade!) That journal entry of mine at dArt was a moment of frustration caused by facing the truth of how little I actually know. And to expect to master it in 3 weeks was very foolish of me. The inner brat had to come out and express it`s rage, and now that it`s done, I`ve made my peace with it and am moving on. I`m not THAT old, in the end
Tink - the sequal. I was trying so hard to figure it all out, getting frustrated, and then I`ve decided to just let go. I started making different strokes, testing different brushes, playing actually, and at one moment things started to take shape of something..well, I don`t want to jinx it, but...good! I`m actually liking what I see so far. Sure, there`s a lot of refining to do, but I discovered the impact of atmosphere, lightning and mood. And the blur/overlay effect . This should teach me not to listen to Daft Punk while painting a fairy. Bjork is far more suitable.

What a perfect day this was! I woke up with this awful pain, my tooth was killing me! A friend took me to ER, only to realise there`s a TON of people waiting in line, and I managed to step into something very disgusting...I`m such a lucky guy
Practice, practice...never did any shading from top till now, so I took my trusty pencils and did a quickie. I`m sick of Photoshop ATM, and something is telling me the feeling is mutual...

Really liking the fairy with the gold dust...looking very interesting! The anatomy isn't correct, but you know what? I'm actually liking your proportions very much on her....great work!
liking the lady in the cloak and the lighting/movement in it.....hope you plan on givin her some colour soon :) I've joined the quest for the Dragon Scroll! http://community.imaginefx.com/forums/317/197422/ShowThread.aspx#197422
Whoa, replies even w/o me uploading anything new! Thank you!
@Emilia - Why, yes, usually when I draw anatomy ends up ALL OVER the place XD, but let`s call it "an artistic expression", K? LOL
P.S. Where`s your sketchbook? I`m DYING to poke around it! ;)
@ Adrasteia - thanks! Again, look at the anatomy of her...my God, one would think I`d be able to present a decent looking female figure by now, but nooooooo....Pxel is a lazy little...something (can`t quite think of a word right now), and refuses to SIT DOWN and have a look at Loomis. Sheesh. As for the coloring....I don`t know. Somehow I`m getting the feeling I bit off more than I could chew. I never used colors in my drawings before, and now I`m pushing it, w/o having the basic knowledge of it. I really think I have to focus on my drawings first, proportions and details, and then slowly build on that. It will take time, but hey - I`m young, healthy, and sorrounded by amazing people (FYI, I mean YOU guys ;) ) who are helping me out along the way. With some patience, I could come a long way. One day.
At drawing class today we were drawing a male mannequin (torso, no hands) with a piece of cloth wrapped around it and with a shoe (!) in the corner, in this really weird position...drove me nuts! But I managed to make something decent-looking on my paper. The professors assistant (that`s right - I`ve NEVER seen the actual professor, just her assistant...and that`s what I`m paying 1800$ a year) said it looked very good, I just didn`t manage to nail the actual texture of the drapery (turned out too shiny - I have to practice making texture and shade values on them), so one could say it was a good day. Wish I could show it to you people, but we have to leave our drawings there :( Then I had gym class...I`m dropping deat, can`t hold my eyes open. Tomorrow - textile pattern and clothing design classes. Can`t wait! If my drawings turn out ok, I`ll show them to you, this part (especially clothing design) is my favorite! Oh man, I can`t wait...happy fingers, happy fingers! LOL
My brain just started the shut-down process, have to keep it short.
Stay tuned! *

Another day, another sketch. Well, actually, 2 of them. The fist one was drawn during my clothing design class, and this time we had to use flowers as inspiration. I did this one w/o much effort, b/c I can`t focus with all these people around me. But, the good news is that the assistant gave me an OK on making designs using Photoshop, so I`m going to make a small "book" of digital designs to present along with my hand made ones. I`m such a suck-up! XD
The second one was made while I was drinking coffee with my classmates during the 2 hour pause between classes...I have no idea why I`m in the "put your hands up in the air" phase (sp?) right now... LOL

Nice sketches here I like the RoseGown. To post multiple sketches I sometimes resize all the images I want to post too 500/550 width. Open an A4 document in photoshop and drag and drop the images onto this. Once done I crop it down. Voila. It beats uploading to an image hosting site imo. That's just laborious. Have fun keep sketching.
Oh man, why didn`t I think of that? I do it for composing a whole image ( scanning an A3 drawing with an A4 scanner - lots of work!), so why not use the same method? Thanks!
Now I remembered...I`ll have to use colors for my designs...shoot! O_o...

Red rose WIP...supposed to be a symbol of love and passion...took me much longer thank expected. But I`m enjoying it though, this one is just for fun...what do you guys think?
