I havent got issue 1 yet it should be arriving next Monday or Tuesday. Looking forward to writing about it here.
I loved Imagine Fx 33. The cover worked brilliantly and you cant go wrong with a bit of humour, and that's exactly what the imagine-nation section covered too.
It also had a heads up for the Fantasy film props exhibition and i wouldn't have known about this if i hadn't seen it mentioned in these pages. I actually went along the other day --- i shall be posting some of the picture i took here sometime soon. This issue also had a gallery of all the lovely forum members covers and its great to spot peoples name there and see their artwork in print..well done all.
The Dave Kendall feature made love to my eyes, a gripping array of pictures there. But it was the workshop that i loved the most, very rarely do you like al the topics and styles but this collection was spot on. 50 uses for a Dead Dragon by John Duddle was more than i could hope for..(actually i hope he comes up with a picture for the other 49 uses) The Lauren K Cannon insight showing a huntress was very thoughtful and well written. Then we got a wonderful Alan Lathwell dark fantasy figure painting master class which i devoured with interest. To be honest i didn't care too much about the Marta Dahlig how to pain an old hag, i think he work is brilliant but to me it sometimes looks too photorealistic and doesn't look like a painting, she is too good at what she does i suppose, it has to be said the advice she gives is some of the best. Then we got brilliant chimp in a space suit portrait, now this meant to be photorealistic and to me as a fantasy painting it works better than a portrait of an old lady.
Okay there i am waxing lyrically about issue 33 ...in a thread specifically for issue 34..doh!
