I have a question in regards to this new rule  its an area that seems a little grey to me.  in the 2 times i have entered the competition i havnt really had a chance to post WIPs as my work often means that although i have my trusty laptop and some spare time to ocassionly get some personal artwork done i am not often actually able to access the internet. so i have to ask do the two wips have to be posted at different times?  say start of the week mid week end etc?  which would be a problem for the people who speedpaint as well. or am i able to  say save my original idea an early stage blocking a refinement of details and the final image and as long as i put them all in seperate posts (so that i can have the two links) post them all at the same time?  if not this is really going to screw my chances of even attempting to enter at least in weekly comps in the future as said i usually do my work when i dont have access to the internet and they are also usually speed paints (as thursday mornings my time is the longest period of time i get to actually work on anything personal)  this is something that isnt really that clear in the explination of the new rule although it could also just be a its late and i am still recovering from a crazy circus session today and misunderstood things.

 

As far as I am concerned it will already take a fair bit of time going through entries every week and confirming they have WIPs, so we probably wont be checking the time of each post as well. I would say that as long as both WIP links are separate posts, and both contain images that are from different stages of development and NOT the same as the finished painting, then you are OK.

you can just chuck them up last minute in the WIP thread, at the same time you chuck up your final. it's seriously gonna take an extra 5 minutes of your time

its not actually the extra time to post the wips that i was saying i need to make extra time for. i need to make extra time to enter overall between a busy performance and teaching schedule i dont get as much time to focus on my visual arts anymore  hence the fact that i have only managed to enter twice in entire time i have been on site.   i am happy to post wips i had only wanted to check that i could post them all at the same time which everyone seems to agree is more than acceptable   I work on my art between sessions and whenever i can carve long enough out of my day to actually turn my laptop on.

 

 

oh...right. well then yeah tell me about it! i find it hard enough to drag my ass into gear in my free time. that has a lot to do with the existence of computer games though

I agree i've stuck into Resistance fall of Man again, all that time spent blasting Chimera, alien beasties...instead of wips i'd like to post my highest scores up.

Boy, have i been gone that long!!!!  Can't ay i agree with compulsory wip's but i do remember a rash of people posting older images last time i was here so i guess this was bound to happen sooner or later.
