All this talk of Muppets and Labrynth got me back to thinking about The Dark Crystal, one my favorites (hence my skeksis avatar).
Does anyone know anything about the new upcoming The Power of the Dark Crystal movie? I think it's coming out in a couple of years, like 2012 or something like that (AGH! Why must I wait!)

the dark crystal i havent seen that for years! i didnt even know there was another film coming out! i kinda live with the fairies sometimes :S right now i shall finds out! i really should see if i can get my hands on a copy of the film from somewhere. i thought i had it but it looks like it went walkies....

haven't heard much about it in awhile. I know it's being produced by Henson's daughter and that they're supposed to be using the old animatronics and puppetry to do the movie. They want to keep the style like the original. but that's about all I've heard.

saw Zombieland last night. hillarious! absolutely loved the movie and laughed pret near through the entire thing.

I wish I saw Dark Crystal back in the day. My girlfriend loves it but we saw it recently and it was alright.

 

Same with Legend. I used to love that move, now, its okay.

The Last Unicorn was a fond memory, but today I can barley make it all the way through.

It's a shame Dark Crystal wasn't more successful on it's release or we would have probably had a lot more fantasy stuff like that (and Labyrinth) from Jim Henson.

I had a similar worry with The Flight of Dragons. We loved that film in my house - in fact my dad still quotes Ommadon on a regular basis - so when we sat down to watch it again as adults, we feared it wouldn't be as good as we remembered.

We shouldn't have worried, it's still a fantastic film. Now, if Warner Brothers would just release it on DVD already!
