That's one desolate road. Let's put at least one wagon on it, shall we? Big Smile

Well, mindbender, I think I took on a little too much with the graces Smile. Have to try to sketch that sculpture again in 6 months or so and see if I can do a better job. You made me lol with your "desolate" road. Loved your elephant.

    Great wall Avali!

    oaktree, very nice elephant.

Solomon1, I really like your "out from the mist" sketch.

Here is my douglas fir tree sketch:

Thanks, glad I could make you laugh. Nice fir drawing.

I did another study from one of Mossberg's wonderful watercolour paintings:

Sketchstorm #58: Celebrities - Tom Cruise

Time for one of the funniest and most challenging things drawable: Celebrities.

Since we did a female last time, let's do Tom Cruise this time.

Re: Sketchstorm #58: Celebrities - Tom Cruise

Hey nice work guys, I especially love the elephants!

At last I decided to join the fray.

My fir tree, from imagination, dunno if they look like this, gave it a festive edge^^

Tom Cruise from google images, black and white pencil - added a tincy bit of photoshop to darken some of the features a bit more.

Think I almost had him, maybe eyes I are too high and some other stuff, this kind of thing I find the hardest - getting a real likeness is so difficult!!!!

    About 40mins.

Thanks Mindbender, I like your fir drawing as well.

AlexTooth, I think that's a very good resemblance to Tom Cruise.

Mine doesn't look much like him at all, but he does look male, which is saying something for me (most of the time if I try to draw a man, he ends up looking pretty feminine).  Below my Cruise attempt is a sketch from an earlier topic, after Raphael.

Hey again, welcome on board. Great sketches. Like the way you use both black and white pencil.

Lol. I have the opposite dilemma - every female gets way too masculine Big Smile. Great that you tried the Raphael. One amazing artist to study.

Sketchstorm #59: Sculpture - Laocoon Group

As if celebrity drawing wasn't challenging enough it's time to sketch sculptures again. This time we'll do the famous Laocoon group. Of course one might choose to do just a detail from the group if the entire sculpture - snakes and all - is just too demanding. Hopefully it'll be a both fun and instructive study no matter what. Cool
