Re: Mindbender's sketchbook - Way of the Pencil

Hey buddy. Long time since I was here. I'm drunk now, so I wont crit any. But, I am starting up new drawing classes on the friundervisningen (guess you as a swede understand and I coudn't bother translating now) here in Bergen (my beautyful hometown, love it to bits 'n' bits) . I was wondering if I could give the URL to this thread to my class as an example on what  one could accomplish when drawing and drawing and drawing. Can be hard sometimes to get the pupils to understand that you need to just draw and draw to become good. Someone just think it takes ten course days and they can draw. But you are an example of someone that understand the hard work behind great art, and really work towards it. I've seen you over at CA aswell. Re3spect for that man. Took me a looong time to post ANY work there. And I've been doing this for....jeeez.. 10 to 15 years.. I'm old and not gotten farTongue Tied

Re: Mindbender's sketchbook - Way of the Pencil

    Thanks a lot, my friend.

Of course you can give the URL. Glad if I can inspire others to draw more. I post my artwork daily on my blog Fantasytree as well, at fantasytree.blogspot.com - feel free to send them there if you want to. Many good resources and links on drawing/painting there. Have even begun writing my own drawing lessons, based on my own practice these last 6 months Embarrassed. Only 2 this far, but I've been asked to do a third one, so that one might come in a not too distant one... (You should look at the YouTube video there as well if you haven't - as you're actually mentioned in the end credits! Big Smile).

Concerning posting at CA...I guess I'm just insane enough and those skilled artists really seem to enjoy helping less experienced ones any way they can.

Don't forget though, that I was drawing Royo-inspired babes already 20 years ago. Just took a REALLY long vacation from serious drawing practice before continuing. Wink If internet had existed back then (I'm old, I'm old...), I probably would have kept drawing. Too bad, but I'm glad I've now rediscovered a lost love of my life. This time I'll never let her go! Big Smile

Re: Mindbender's sketchbook - Way of the Pencil

Thanks a lot. Probably won't use ink for portrait drawing though (can always ink digitally if needed Big Smile). Get too nervous I'll mess it all up.

Glad to hear you're doing fine. Smile
