FARSEER

The monthly theme is open to interpretation.
For clarification: when I first thought of this theme I didn't realise there are mainly a few "universes" where it is used (Warhammer and book series by R Hobb and RJ Sawyer respectively). You can choose to illustrate these existing "universes" or make your own interpretation. Is the farseer an oracle, a giant telescope for finding aliens or a gadget to see into the future? Is it magic, steampunk, hi-tek, or something else entirely? It's up to you.

Deadline: Midnight (GMT) on 29th February (this is Wednesday night, End of the Month, for those that need clarification). There is a 5 minute grace period allowing people to get their posts and links sorted. A moderator will then check links and post a list of valid entries after which voting will begin. If you have time, please include crits with your vote.
 
Please keep questions, comments, general chatter and all WIPs (required for entry) to THIS THREAD.
Post your entries in the finals thread and remember to include links to at least two wip posts in the wip thread.

- All artwork must be the work of the entrant and completed within the time frame of the challenge (this means it should also be started after the challenge is posted).

I am so sorry for not posting a challenge--I just saw your comment in the January WIP thread and went to check the final thread...I don't know how I missed seeing kazky's post. Thank you so much for covering for me.

This is a way better theme than I could have come up with, anyway!

I should be in on this one. Sounds good - I've already got an idea for something completely unexpected, so I'm quite excited.

im really excited about this one, gives me a goof reason to start painting a woman again. Right now i'm thinking on painting a classical farseer I'm not sure wheter to make this a voodoo seer or a viking one, we will see as I progress..

Here is my idea and start for the Farseer theme.

In my imagination the Farseer is a Magic shining stone on a cliff floating in the air.

The stone works like an oracle and shows random pictures from the past present or the future for some one without powers. But a trained magician can by will make the stone show times and places of their wish.

Or something..... :p

I'm going have a crack at the monthly and take my time painting for a change

not so quick sketch, took me a while to get to something that I liked the look of...need more practice!

 

Well I decided with two jobs I don't have time for weekly challenges, but monthly on the other hand. Yes. I'm in great topic.

My concept is this I see the Word "Farsser" Being a human description for an under water alien race with incredible sonar abilities. Surpassing that of Whales on Planet Earth.

  

A little update after work. Changed the Comp. slightly and added in another alien.

cool theme, hope I get around to finishing this one! The idea is the girl has found somthing in a forest that gives her a vision of a dark being, whether its in the past, future, or another dimension, its not something you want to be around!

Hi everyone. First challenge for me & it just so happens the theme coinsided with something that's been floating around in my head for a while. My farseer envisions oncoming army in the not too distant future...

 

 

this month looks really promising, great start. I'm going for something filled with magic.
